Baller moski Posted September 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2019 Who makes these? Thinking about pulling them off, think they would leave mark??
Baller Bjkesler Posted September 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2019 look like homemade guides to help driver stay centered in the slalom course.
Baller epnault Posted September 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2019 I can't seem to find the company anymore. I believe the product name is boatsight and I put them on my boat for my wife when we got our new boat in 2016. Mine are attached by adhesive. Baller Not_The_Pug Posted September 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2019 We put them on with a strip of dual lock. That way different drivers can move it depending on preference.
Baller moski Posted September 18, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted September 18, 2019 Yep that rings a bell. Bullseye boat sight. Yeah they work great in ski course. I’ve considered taking them off. Just curios if they would leave mark. They look like they are just stuck in with adhesive so I’m thinking no marks will present if I remove them. I’ll get a hold of the inventor of them. I go thru the course once in awhile. Then again maybe I’ll just leave them on. They do work great. Of the times going thru the ski course, My wife said she does not use them. So that’s why I’m considering taking off. Thank u got help folks.
Baller jjackkrash Posted September 18, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 18, 2019 The nice thing about gelcoat is it is thick and buffs out pretty easily with a rotary or gear-driven orbital buffer, some wool pads, and rubbing compound followed by a fine polish. 3m and Marine 31 make good marine gelcoat buffing products. Baller_ lpskier Posted September 19, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted September 19, 2019 I saw the Bullseye guy at Nationals. He had a set on the dashboard of his truck. I actually kind of like that idea... Lpskier
Baller APB Posted September 19, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2019 Use fishing line. Then lighter fluid to soak and remove adhesive. Rinse after
Baller ToddL Posted September 19, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2019 Google how to remove emblems from cars. Probably many of those same techniques would apply here. Just research the difference between car finishes and gel coats to be safe.
Baller_ lpskier Posted September 19, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted September 19, 2019 They are attached with a simple adhesive. If they don’t peel right off, borrow your wife’s hair dryer and give them a little heat. They’ll come off and they won’t leave a mark. Baller 75Tique Posted September 4, 2020 Baller Share Posted September 4, 2020 How do you know where to mount them? All I can think is super calm day with absolutely zero wind so boat stays put. Driver at the helm, another guy laying on the deck, spreading his weight around so as to not tip the boat, placing them where the driver says to place them while he has a guide ball in his sights. Baller ToddL Posted September 4, 2020 Baller Share Posted September 4, 2020 Possibly mount a go pro at eye level and mostly centered where most drivers' heads would be. Record some really good boat path trips down the lake. Then, determine the center point from the videos, and estimate the tolerances???
