Baller_ lpskier Posted November 8, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted November 8, 2019 Yesterday, Jennifer LaPoint broke the W5 National Record with a score of 2@-39, 32 mph. She broke it in round 2 at the November Turns tournament at the Drew Ross Ski Academy behind a Nautique driven by Gordon West using a new ML rope and a, shall we say, “custom” HO ski. The existing record is held by Plillippa Shed with a score of 1@39, which Jennifer tied in round 1. Jennifer won the Queen’s Cup in September. All this is post ankle replacement surgery ultimately required by a devastating injury In a pro event in the late 90’s. Her doctors then advised her that she would never ski again and might not ever walk. I guess she showed them! Lpskier

Baller dvskier Posted November 8, 2019 Baller Share Posted November 8, 2019 Jennifer went to Georgia Tech on a basketball scholarship. That lasted until waterskiing took priority, I think a year or two. A very talented lady, she’s succeeded at all she did. A great ambassador for our sport. Baller aupatking Posted November 15, 2019 Baller Share Posted November 15, 2019 I haven’t heard any more about her ski but saw this and was wondering when we might be hearing more about it. We all know that KLP is always working on ski design. Is this his latest?

Baller A_B Posted November 16, 2019 Baller Share Posted November 16, 2019 She coached and skied at our lake back in the late ‘80’s. Such a sweetie. Super smooth on the water. The ski looks a little wider up front. Look at the gap between the binding to the top edge. Makes sense dropping to 32.
