Just wondering what the best way to remove painted numbers from glecoat would be!!

Painted numbers? I would try a solvent like Acetone first. Won't harm the gel coat (other than removing all the wax) and may dissolve the paint.

I’d recommend a good compound.

I know some people have used a Whizzy Wheel:

But that was for decals and not paint.

not sure if you mean painted or stickers. If stickers I use one of these and it works like a charm.

blow dryer to warm them up a bit. scrape (slowly). then use Goo gone to remove remaining residue and wipe off with water.

I would try acetone and or automotive lacquer thinner. Wet sand 1000 grit then power buff the area!
