Baller keithh2oskier Posted June 29, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2020 does anyone have an idea of what fin blocks are combatable across brands? I have a spare block/fin for my connelly but would like to have a spare for a goode I am trying. Also would be nice to be able to try different settings back to back. Baller skialex Posted June 29, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2020 Goode fin block pre 9800 is compatible with most brands (black color) the newer silver one only fits Goode skis. With a little machinist work you can fit almost any block to any ski but I wouldn’t suggest it unless it’s the last option.
Baller keithh2oskier Posted June 29, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted June 29, 2020 @skialex do you know when the 9800 came out? If I had a 2017 N1 would that be pre or post 9800?
Baller skialex Posted June 29, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2020 @keithh2oskier 2007, I had one and it was the first Goode with graphics on the bottom and not fully sprayed black. Chances of needing a spare fin box are very low. And if you damaged the fin you can take any similar thickness fin out of an older ski and with a flat file and a grinder you can easily modify it to use it on your current ski. Baller skialex Posted June 29, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2020 @Gloersen I also like the Goode fin box, it keeps the fin in place better than most fin boxes and one piece fin boxes are easier when putting numbers than two piece boxes. Goode fin box will not align perfectly with other brand skis that have inserts installed.
Baller keithh2oskier Posted June 29, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted June 29, 2020 Thanks and then as far as fthe actual fins go, what flexibility do I have with thicknesses especially if I want to give the denali fin a try. Could I get a spare goode fin box, to keep a denali fin or an old connelly fin per say?
