Baller Dacon62 Posted July 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 16, 2020 17 Prostar with 5.7. Found this under the tranny today. What is it, where does it belong and if I don’t replace it before using the boat is that a problem?
Baller epnault Posted July 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 16, 2020 To me it look like an anti rotation part for a large hex nut. I wish I was near my boat to help you. It looks like it is meant to be slid in and clips to a holder. The knurled ends makes it looks like it could be pinched to slide it off. Maybe look near the drive shaft? Baller ScottScott Posted July 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 16, 2020 From memory....maybe the engine mount adjustable nuts?
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted July 16, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted July 16, 2020 A thingamajig for a whatyoumacallit!! Probably a very serious part..
Baller Tom351 Posted July 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 16, 2020 The size of the hex sure looks like engine mount size...I wonder if it was something that was used during engine installation to keep the nut in place on the mount.....then typically removed/discarded, but yours got away and lived in the bilge for a few years... total speculation on my part there.
