Baller DavidN Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 Stumbled upon that one on FB Marketplace. WTH - what’s going on here? :D https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3203820279733757/
Baller keithh2oskier Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 Maybe someone gets car sick
Baller oldjeep Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 Seen plenty of Malibu's like that, never a nautique.
Baller UWSkier Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 Someone's wife got sick of sitting backwards on their booze cruises. Happens when people buy a ski rig to use as a pontoon.
Baller_ Wish Posted August 7, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted August 7, 2020 Well at least getting on the platform has been made easier ?
Baller BlueSki Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 Maize and blue, clearly a U of Michigan grad.
Baller BG1 Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 You could reverse the passenger bench seat on the 1977 Ski Nautique I bought when I first started skiing. I did it a couple of times for cruising.
Baller BMG73 Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 I’ve also seen a few MC 205’s 1992-1994 like that. Makes for no storage.
Baller skimtb Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 @BMG73 That was a “Prosport 205” instead of Prostar 205... not sure what all years that was done but I’ve only seen it in the 92-95 205 hull. Manly 93-94 I think, 2 or 3 data points. Wonder what all they did to the boat above? Or if they have the original parts...
Baller WoodySkier Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 That is one ugly boat
Baller fu_man Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 Only 60 hours on a 2008?!?!? seems fishy. I also like the flip up ladder attached to the platform.
Baller DavidN Posted August 7, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 Seems legit if the boat was used for the occasional sunset cruise and some outings for swimming. Could be a good deal if the original upholstery comes with the boat and IF it had ZO, but I see no pucks, definitely not a skiers boat. And no trailer. Still - a 2008 for under 30k seems almost like a steal these days. :D
Baller Orlando76 Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 Definitely not hardcore skiers. I don’t think there’s too much fishy going on there since that’s Gary Meloon’s shop. What I find fishy is spending $45k on a boat in ‘08 and selling it now for 27k wo a trailer. But my views on boat values must be out of this world compared to other skiers. Baller oldjeep Posted August 7, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2020 So are you guys thinking that this was not done at the factory? Not sure if you could get sport seating in a regular Malibu Response or if only the corvette boats had it in a direct drive. But it was an option in the v drives for quite a while. Baller DavidN Posted August 8, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 8, 2020 Got just reduced to $24k. I start to think that could be something... Remove the swim ladder, sort out the interior, straighten the bimini and get ZO installed...
Baller Bill22 Posted August 8, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 8, 2020 @DaveD get them to reduce the price again to cover the cost of a new trailer and it could be a good boat.
Baller_ Wish Posted August 8, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted August 8, 2020 No cruise control?
Baller DavidN Posted August 8, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 8, 2020 @Bill22 I’m good, got me a nice 200 at the beginning of the year. Thought it might be interesting for someone else. A low hour 196 with ZO compatibility, isn’t that what everyone here favors? @Wish Looks like it might have PP, can’t really see on the pictures. Definitely no ZO pucks. But it has the Hydrogate. Someone would need to contact the seller for either more info or pics of the engine. Anyhow - I just wanted to pass it on ... No interest in buying. Baller BrennanKMN Posted August 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2020 ZO can be added to that boat for $1,600 and it says it comes with the original observers seat. Add 4-5 grand for a trailer and you're into a top tier ski boat for under 30k.
Baller PatM Posted August 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2020 The owner probably didn't know what that black pole was for in front of the motor cover.
Baller_ MISkier Posted August 9, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted August 9, 2020 @"Pat M", it's obvious. The optional cupholders are mounted on the black pole. Where else will you put your beer? The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller Edmund Posted August 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2020 Here is the engine in the boat. What engine is this? Is that a carburetor and not EFI? (I am not an engine expert.)
Baller tjs1295 Posted August 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2020 Looks like an Excaliber with the plastic cover off.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted August 9, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted August 9, 2020 Two " drivers seats" were not that uncommon. We built a 176 for the Bell isle police dept that had two drivers seats. I am sure it was a special build price to have that done.
Baller_ Wish Posted August 10, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted August 10, 2020 @Jody_Seal no comment on if that motor is an Excalibur?
Baller thager Posted August 10, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2020 @Wish It's an Excalibur without the plastic shroud.
Baller Zman Posted August 10, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2020 I had a Supra Rider (the Supra Beast with an open bow) in the mid-80s that had a swivel passenger seat, and driver's seat. Yea, we skied a lot, but we also did plenty of river cruising too. Refreshments included.
zippin_2
The Streetcars in New Orleans do not turn around but rather just go in reverse down the same track. Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted August 10, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted August 10, 2020 @Wish that is a non cat Excalibur. 343 hp. E controlled and zo compatible.
Baller DavidN Posted August 24, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 24, 2020 Now $22k. Seems the Covid Boat Price Hype has come to an end. Wasn’t there an 08 that recently sold for north of 30k?

Baller DavidN Posted August 25, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 25, 2020 Wow then they dropped the price once more.
Baller bparson Posted August 25, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 25, 2020 $19,900. They bought it new with no trailer. They live on a lake so it’s been hanging in a boat house with a cover on it since new. Looks like a little fading at least on the back.
