Baller pcmcon729 Posted November 1, 2020 Baller Share Posted November 1, 2020 I have 900 HRS on my 2012 Prostar, and the rudder has become sloppy with a fair amount of side to side movement when wiggling it from under the boat on the trailer. I would gather that the rudder port and rudder contact areas are worn. I intend to replace both, along with the steering cable and tiller arm bolt while I'm at it. Can anyone tell me if the 2021 MC parts are retrofittable? @Jody_Seal
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted November 2, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted November 2, 2020 Mastercraft utilizes a plastic bushing in their rudder ports. More then likely the play in your rudder port is from those bushings being wore out. Probably nothing wrong with the rudder you have just need to replace the bushings or the whole port, Which might be easier.
