Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted April 30, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted April 30, 2021 This came up on my Facebook feed from the master craft site. Price dropped to $6,500 zo ready. For those looking to repower. Engine apparently is in Detroit.
Baller 6balls Posted May 1, 2021 Baller Share Posted May 1, 2021 Wow. Were I a little younger---throw that in my bubble butt and my original upholstery seat bottoms done and I'm good to go for a very long time...maybe get something for the GT40 as an offset. Just need to live near Jody to make sure it's done right! Would also be really cool to have a "right backing" Nautique!
Baller pcmcon729 Posted May 1, 2021 Baller Share Posted May 1, 2021 That's a great price considering that the exhaust manifolds alone cost $2400 apiece.
Baller BraceMaker Posted May 1, 2021 Baller Share Posted May 1, 2021 @pcmcon729 I believe he bought 3 take off ilmor all with bad valves then had a machinist redo the heads. So price reflects that there is some risk vs a new engine. No warranties etc.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted May 1, 2021 Author Baller_ Share Posted May 1, 2021 The externals alone are well worth the $6500. Small block chevys are a dime a dozen... well kinda!
Lowballer
I would love to put that in my boat!
Baller Mastercrafter Posted May 14, 2021 Baller Share Posted May 14, 2021 @Lowballer that’s what I’m doing, building a 93 Anniv clone with an Ilmor. I’ll update as it comes together ?
Baller mmosley899 Posted May 15, 2021 Baller Share Posted May 15, 2021 @6balls that would indeed be a cool engine to put in your bubble butt SN, but it would still back to the port side, your GT40 is a left hand rotation motor, the power plus transmission reverses the prop rotation. We just put an Excalibur 343 and zero off into our ‘98 bubble butt. Sold the GT40 for 2K$.
