World Police and Firefighter Games 2023

So the WPFG is going to be held in Winnipeg Canada in 2023. For those that arent familiar, it is a muli sport competition similar to the Olympics geared for Fire, Police, Corrections, and I beleive Paramedics. It attracts over 10,000 athletes and is held every 2 years. The sports included are subject to change. In this years games, waterski is included. The site will be one that has hosted the Pan AM games, and several Canadian Nationals. Anyone know anyone that is going.

Thx for posting @brody. I skied in them in 2001 in Indianapolis. Seems like the lake was west of Indy in a residential neighborhood. I didn't ski well back then and have been looking to ski in them again but skiing hasn't been on the venue since. Might have a better shot this time!

My ski buddy across the lake is planning to go. He's a fireman. The first he went to was around a decade ago when it was in Vancouver B.C. He got one ball.

I think it was his 2nd time ever skiing. LOL

He'll get a ton more buoys this time.

I skied in the first one and a few after that, in the mid 1980's. they were a lot of fun.

I was in charge of the water skiing competition for the 2009 World Police and Fire Games that were held in Vancouver. They haven’t had water skiing since then but I might be tempted to go to Winnipeg. The games are a ton of fun.

We hosted the World Firefighter Games here in Edmonton, Alberta in 1996. Was an amazing event. The site we had the skiing at was my regular site just east of the city - so much fun.
