Bunger
Long story short: I have a 25 year old Kidder Redline that I need to replace. I haven't ridden it in a few years ( haven't skied at all during that time ) and the bindings are too tight to safely ski. I have never skied anything other than a Redline ( started in late high school ) and am not sure in which direction to go to replace. The rub is that I can't really try something before I buy, mostly because I am going to buy used. I was thinking something in the D3 line to keep in the Kidder family? Or maybe a Radar Senate? What would be the most appropriate/best/direct replacement for my old ski? Side note: I ski open water ( never a course ) at roughly 32 and 0' off. Baller jeblanc Posted April 24, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 24, 2022 Welcome back. I'm not at all familiar with D3, but the Radar Senate or the Connelly V would both be excellent choices for someone looking to upgrade. Ski-it-again often has used options for either one. Good luck. Baller Dysco Posted April 25, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 25, 2022 D3 are generally very neutral and user friendly skis. I'd search for a used a few years old.
Baller VONMAN Posted April 25, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 25, 2022 Agree with @Dysco. Ernie Schlager
Baller Broussard Posted April 25, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 25, 2022 @Bunger For open water skiing at 32mph I would look at the Radar Senate Alloy or Graphite. Theses skis really work well at this speed and handle rougher water a but better than the Lithium or Pro Build. .
Bunger
The Senate Alloy has been on my radar (see what I did there?) for a while now, but mostly because I won’t of a proper D3 comparison?
