Baller elr Posted May 15, 2023 Baller Share Posted May 15, 2023 My boat was running rough and not getting to speed so I did a complete service - cap (mounting ear on distributor cracked so I added a repair plate), rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filters, oil change, new impeller. It still ran rough and did didn't get to top speed. Changed low pressure fuel pump and changed the cap again. Now I'm getting to top speed but have an occasional miss at 25 and 27 MPH -- all other speeds seem smooth. Any ideas? @Jody_Seal
Baller UWSkier Posted May 15, 2023 Baller Share Posted May 15, 2023 Does that model have an Ignition Control Module? On a Vortec-based Indmar, that'd be the first place I'd look. Then check fuel pressure is within spec. Then coil.
Baller buechsr Posted May 16, 2023 Baller Share Posted May 16, 2023 Same engine, same symptom here. Crank position sensor did the trick. '08 excalibur
Baller 2Valve Posted May 16, 2023 Baller Share Posted May 16, 2023 @elrWhat year? Multi-Port? Throttle Body? If you need a ICM, I have plenty from a previous round of trouble-shooting.

They're from a 2002 TBI equipped Vortec 350.
Baller cacman Posted May 16, 2023 Baller Share Posted May 16, 2023 I had the same issue on a 2007. They hooked it up to computer adjusted cam retard.
