Baller makeall6 Posted July 14, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 14, 2023 I apologize for asking a question that has been asked many times. I have a 2004 with the Excalibur engine. I know that the type of transmission fluid that is sold has changed over the years, so what type should I purchase? It is time to change it. Thanks! Baller Jmoski Posted July 14, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 14, 2023 Most likely your manual calls for Dextron III, which GM is no longer “certifying” anymore given they released Dextron 6 (which is synthetic) as its replacement for modern vehicles. So what you can get at the auto parts store is labeled Dex/merc which is still dex-3, it just doesn’t have the label anymore. 3
