Baller MattL Posted October 9, 2023 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2023 My ski team’s slalom ski has a Radar RTP on it and the thread holding the foot wrap to the place has ripped. This seems to be a common issue with these bindings. Has anyone repaired this by retreading it to the plate? If so, what thread did you use? Baller Luv2Ski Posted October 9, 2023 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2023 I have found that flex tape can fix anything. It works great for binding repairs and holds up really well in the water! https://www.amazon.com/Flex-Tape-Rubberized-Waterproof-Black/dp/B01N5Q3G8H/ref=asc_df_B01N5Q3G8H/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198096571354&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18254013090230581059&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028256&hvtargid=pla-348805449026&th=
Baller MDB1056 Posted October 9, 2023 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2023 that ski looks more worn out than the binding.... Maybe flex tape there too
Baller vtmecheng Posted October 9, 2023 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2023 Get some Kevlar thread. If you really can’t fins it anywhere, most craft and sowing stores will that or at least have an extra strong thread.
Baller skibrain Posted October 10, 2023 Baller Share Posted October 10, 2023 6-8 small Zip ties a perfect solution there. Much faster than sewing.
Baller SportSki Posted October 11, 2023 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2023 Mine is starting to go as well - Im thinking about just switching to rubber RTP rather than Repairing?
Baller BraceMaker Posted October 11, 2023 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2023 @SportSki I would. Just get a Wileys and call it done if you're adventurous buy a couple overlays at the same time and keep them in a drawer out of the sunlight for a lifetime supply. Baller Stevie Boy Posted October 11, 2023 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2023 @SportSki I have changed from the Rubber to the Radar Adjustable, the Rubber tears or Splits in the same place as the stitching goes, Radar Adjustable don,t tighten them too much, this allows for your foot to lift without damaging the stitching, haven,t felt like my foot is going to come out as yet and I am not running it tight just a snug fit.
