  1. @Horton Horton needs a panda for not knowing port and starboard. common.

BTW, boats need torque steer to get the steering wheel off of center because of slop in the linkage. That's how it works with the steering cables. Otherwise, one can move the steering wheel left or right and the boat does not respond. Grinding the rudder solves it. Problem solved.

  2. Drivers should resist a skier from beginning to end, similar to an airplane adjusting for cross wind; but our "cross wind" changes from side to side. A driver should know what foot forward a skier is, feel them in early passes, and watch them from the shore if possible, to gain predictability of the coming "cross winds".

Pulling Nate vs KLP are two different drives for example. With a GPS tracker on the pylon, we tracked straightness so to speak with KLP twice. Once just trying to keep the boat dead straight, and the other working the skier with predicted pull or "cross wind" and feel. The boat was straighter working with the skier, and it was better for the skier. If a skier pulls long and is late, you have to "wait on them" before the load occurs. This also helps keep the boat straight.

Just one test but resisting and feeling the skier gives good results for boat path and skier experience in my view.

  3. @kurtis500 That is a great point. I slightly loosen the very back of rear and front of front screws just a bit to allow the ski to flex, although I have never flex tested with boots and using this method vs torquing them all down. I also have a homemade Wileys type rear that flexes in the middle of the boot. It would be an interesting test. Rebound could also be dampened with a very stiff and tight binding set up, just don't know.

However, using my method, checking screws each set is important.

  4. @Horton Well, 35off is as short as I go, but...MC has a more efficient hull than CC. Might work as an option. The 200+ jumpers could opt for the 6.2, shortline skiers 6.0, and us wallys could cruise the lake after a long line set with a 5.3 sipping fuel. Ilmore has 'em in stock.
  5. I have multilple knee issues including a stretched ACL. My knee is unstable side to side. I have skied with an unloader brace for many years; many brands. I have extra velcro straps to tighten it all and stabilize. it is my front knee and it works well. Without it, my knee flops side to side, Feels like the fin is loose. I good fitting knee brace that has structure below and above is what makes it work.
