Thanks for the info. I currently have a '97 196 and it has a single axel trailer and was looking at an '06 206 for sale with an dual axel. I don't trailer at all (a few KM to the ramp and back twice a season)  and my understanding is that is moving a dual axel is not as easy and we have a tight space to get into our boat house so need the manoeuvrability of a single axel. 

So long story short just wondering if I can put a 206 on a single axel. I will have to look at our bow bumper to see what set of holes it is set on.

Does anyone know if the Ramlin trailers used for the SN 196 '97 - '09 are the same size as the 206? I know it's a foot longer just wondering if a trailer for a 196 will fit a 206 and vice versa.

I have a Naylor Lift and have a very similar cover for ours. I am not sure if it is the same demensions as a Shoremaster but the one we have from Naylor has lasted close to 25 years. https://naylorsystems.com/

I do something very similar as I remove it in the fall and it's cleaned and dried and stored indoors, should last for years.

I have one and it’s great, I have the long sleeve shorty. One tip if you’re buying is buy a size larger than normal as it’s very very tight.

 

Keeps the cold off, just have used in the spring, water would have been high 50s low 60s

@LeonL yes for sure that’s retail and no way anyone paid that. But to ask $117,000 for a 2018 with 500 plus hours is just crazy and that is without the trailer! lol

@Zman a buddy of mine contacted him as well and asked “politely” about the price and his response was “it sold for $120,000 new”

 

So I guess boats are increasing in value like real estate?! Haha

@bananaron thank you for the feedback just to clear it up I’m looking to purchase and and really trying to get a gauge of a fair market price. These boats are very solid and I know it had a lot of years left in it.

@6balls oh for sure the long haul, I’ve had my current boat for 17 years and put about 675 hours on it (I’m in Canada so limited season) the boat before that was 9 years years so this one would be 10 plus easy.

Thanks for all the insight, I am in no rush I know the market is on the very high side right now but I don’t think it will last forever. And you’re right does not hurt to ask.

What is your best estimate as to what a fair price is?

Yeah if I had the choice I’d go with the 206, I saw the 206 in person today and it just left me with “there might be some hidden problems here” kinda feeling it didn’t help that the marina it’s at sells almost exclusively fishing boats so he had no idea what the boat is, he’s got the price right of course! Haha

@jpattigr i agree can be outfitted with zero off but again an additional cost and I’m working within a pretty thin budget to begin with. The low slung bow of the MC has always been a question for me as well.

Just looking to get anyone's two cents on this. Currently have a 1997 Nautique 196 (1000 hrs) I am looking at a 2008 Nautique 206 and a 2004 Mastercraft X7 both are in the same price range and have the same hours - 550 (Have kids and really want the open bow, so not looking at another 196) The MC has Z-Box and overall has all that I need, looks in great shape, bimini top (wife says its a must have) and SN has the old Nautique Cruise Control, interior is very good, is very faded in the main hull colour and is in need of a professional buffing, no bimini top.

 

I guess the question is would you guys go for the boat that is newer but needs more $$$ put into it to make it what I want or go for the few years older MC that is turn key?

 

 

@DHski I did go up a size larger and it’s still not fitting properly
