  1. My ski buddy used to have one, it was good for footing, it was ok for slalom, depends if you are open water or course skiing, in a course it is a small boat and does not track that great.

If it is a large lake know the boat has a very low board and will not handle rough water, also it is very cramped and more than three people is not comfortable.

  2. As some of you who live here in the great white north know, nwe have had a very up and down spring so far, mostly rain, thunder storms and wind. Therefore it was only this weekend I have been able to get out and start to get my course in. (I should also say having two small children does slow me down a little as well!) I have discovered my mainline is snapped between ball 2 and 3, now I should mention it had been in the water for the better part of 20 years.

Anyway question has anyone ever successfully spliced a mainline? I did fix one of my dimond line connectors last year. Not sure if the same will work with the main line considering its under much more pressure.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. @NoProblem I did discuss the pull of the boat, but the students I teach are grade 2-3 so that is about all the physics I can get into. I could do a math quiz on how much rope comes off each time ie. 15-22-28 stuff like that.

@Andre check out one of the Wilson Broa videos they have a whole set of old handles they use for working out!

I have been meaning to post this for a long while. Here is a picture of my classroom. I am an Elementary school teacher and I have put up old handles to use as signs for the names of the groups of students in my class. They took a long time to guess what they were used for! I eventually had to show them a video clip of what skiing looked like! I just have them hanging on clips off the ceiling, high enough up so no student can swing from one!!

  5. I would go with the GPS, I installed it with no existing system in place and it was not that difficult. I understand with a system already in place it is much easier. As far as use hand down the GPS, you input speed, crew weight (this does not change often) and you go. With the older paddle wheel more work and from what I remember from other boats not quite as accurate.
  6. Was at the Toronto boat show today. Prostar was base model $71,000 up to just over 94 fully loaded. Did not get to talk to the Nautique guy enough to get a price. Malibu seemed almost to be a decent price at 57-62 k, saw the Carbon Pro as well did not get a price. Moomba was there as well but no direct drive model there.
  7. @andjules‌ I ski in Ontario and agree about the J Craft! I skied behind one for the first time in I think 1988, thought it was the greatest boat in the world! Of course I was around 12 so anything with a big outboard was cool! After skiing behind a real tournament boat a few years after that my opinion on the J Craft changed drastically!!
