  1. I know this is super late notice, but I am in Florida until Thursday evening and we thought we would have a place to ski but it turns out that's not the case. My friend and I are here because of the collegiate all star tournament this past weekend. I know with masters everything is packed but just thought I would ask to see if anyone has any openenings for a set or two for each of us. Thanks
  2. Looks like it's not in tournament mode? Just switch to tournament mode. I don't know what altered means though.
  3. @jcamp the slalom wake isn't too bad it's a little hard. I haven't skied it too much since we also made friends with some guys who ski on the river with dedicated ski boats. It would be a great family boat though with the wakeboard and ski crossover capabilities. I have heard that the LXI version has a better ski wake but I am not sure on that.
  4. So our wakeboard and waterski club here at Washington State University has a 1998 Malibu Sunsetter LX that is due if not past due for a new rudder cable. I am having the hardest time locating the stamped serial number to give me the length I need to order. I have checked the steering wheel end of the cable as well as the rudder end and can't find it. Does anyone have this boat and know the length of cable? And yes I have searched Google but haven't found any conclusive answers. Thank you, Erik
  5. If you haven't seen the new McConkey movie yet, do it.
  6. @crashman short setup? How about putting in an 8 buoy course? Works very well at the gravel pit I ski on. It's about 1750ft long.
  7. Sounds perfect as a local skiing currency. If you go somewhere you won't be reciprocating just bring the usual cash or gas. As a local currency it encourages balance of site and boat usage. That means hours get spread evenly among boats and you can get better at skiing different sites.
  8. Perfect WSU colors.....and we could definitely use a dedicated ski boat.
  9. It's Jeff Tremaine, one of the producers of Nitro Circus. Parks Bonifay is in a few of the episodes and they are friends so I am sure that has something to do with it.
  10. I adjust the tension on my back strada at least 2 times while I'm in the water before my first pass. Then I will adjust it at each end quite often. I always start palms down and switch before pulling out for the gates. At the exit gates I switch back to palms down before dropping.

  12. @mattp Yes, he is a a legend. I was just reaponding to his question on setup. A wing not only slows the ski down it adds stability. That was my opinion on setup. I completely agree with all the technique suggestions. Erik
  13. @19skier I would still run it. Go one degree less than stock maybe, but HO skis especially need that wing to perform. This is not from experience rather from observation of others going wingless and switching back.
  14. I ski B2 on both the 5.7L and the 6.0L 200s. Haven't messed with my letter at all with any boat and have very similar tournament scores on all the boats. I ski primarily ski PP behind a 2005 SN and a 1993 Ski Brendella. The boat changes and PP to ZO changes don't seem to affect my buoy count. Erik
  15. How does it do with short setups?
  16. The above video is a bit long but really interesting. The first thing that came to mind was noose eliminators in slalom, also as the snow season approaches it is good to remember to be safe.
  17. @I5boi You could always get a membership at Warman Lake near Vancouver, WA for all of your course skiing needs.
  18. Simple colors: black, white, and red. Our 2005 Nautique is white with a black stripe, matched interior. Looks really good IMO and is super easy to keep looking clean.
  19. @Horton Should I go with the 43.5" Graviton?
  20. I need some help determining what I should get for my first trick ski. Should I get an old combo set? Should I get a new ski? Should I get a newer used ski? What size should I get? What brand? etc. 6'1 175lbs Erik
  21. Hey now @OB We actually have somewhat of a football team this year. Good enough to beat USC. Glad to hear there are some waterskiing cougs out there.
  22. Erik Forsee 19 years old, grown up skiing with family and friends in the great state of Washington. I compete in class c tourney's mainly on the eastside of the state and am now doing some collegiate skiing. This year I am the president of the Wakeboard/Waterski Club Team at Washington State University. My personal best is my tournament best, 2 at 35off 36mph two weeks ago at Tate Lake. I love skiing and love to see people get into the sport so my position as president this year has been a lot of fun. Western Collegiate Regionals is next weekend at Bell Aqua. WSU is bringing 3 guys including myself and one girl. Go Cougs!
  23. Being a college student has its advantages in the ski world. When my college team friends and I go to ski with other people we always offer cash but it is rarely accepted. It is great that people like to help out the college skiers. I will gladly let college skiers ski for free with me when I am older. That being said, when I invite my college skiing friends to come to my place to ski I expect some form of payment. It is tough footing the bill for boat gas and truck gas when I don't even have a job during the school year. In reality it is the thought that counts, if your ski partners don't even try to pay, they aren't great partners. And also don't ask the person how much you owe them, give them more than what you would expect to be paid if it was your boat. Its awkward telling someone how much to pay you because you frankly don't want to sound like a cheapskate asking too much.
