  1. Knock sensor is normally on the side of the block with a single wire connector, sensor near crank pulley would be a crankshaft position sensor, with 3 wire connector. Still may be not used if there is no wire connector for it.
  2. I like to use a jumper wire to ground coil wire, need to attach to clean ( unpainted ) ground - bolt, bracket, ground cable away from carb./ fuel. You can also diconnect coil feed wire ( + ) to stop spark altogether. If fuel injected disable fuel supply, unplug injector, fuel pump, fuse, ect. Block open throttle so there is good air flow into intake. As @DanE said they should be even, under100psi would be getting worn but will still run.
  3. Ice off last week, boat ramp opens this weekend. Forcast snow thru mon. Still snowmobiling & boat needs work. Life at high altitude.
  4. Midskier on American Skier site can help also.
  5. If it clicks rapid & not turn over it is a low voltage problem, ck. battery, cables for corrosion. Try using jumper cables directly to stater or jumper box if you can access starter terminals.
  6. Don't forget the intake water before it gets into engine block, intake hose, strainer, impeller is not at engine temp, exhaust hose when putting on trailer, in bilge if not dry. There are all sorts of places for them to hide, which is why they are so hard to stop from spreading.
  7. @Marco how often do you get a evening that is not blown out? Almost always windy p.m. & evening here in Kremmling.
  8. May was wet & windy in Co, finally got on the water 5/23 air & water lower 50s. This weekend near 90 & almost no chance of rain. Hopefully this will move east for you guys soon. Maybe after Bill passes by.
  9. One big advantage I have is I leave boat hooked to truck pretty much all summer ( parked @ my house ) saves alot of time if you have another vehical to drive to storage. My cover is tied with rope. Can have cover off in 2min. ( or less ) A trailer hitch alignment device can help also ( I would do if I had to hitch up every time ) The cameras look they would work nice, but their are other cheaper things out there. Hope this helps. Charlie
  10. Skied keystone late jan. it was thin snow. It has snowed pretty regular all feb. ( snowmobiling has been treemendous ) Looks like no new snow till the end of next week. Ski north face runs & snow should be good. South face runs in p.m. when snow gets soft. @DaveD try a-basin palivachini, steep, moguls, trees. snow stays soft ( winter condition ) till may at least. Still long way to go for ice out ( late april ) than have to wait for the wind to stop blowing. And it can still snow into july, & for some reason you people brag about fla. & ca.
  11. Do not add drygas ( heet ) to ethanol, that is just adding more alcohol. Ethanol will absorb moisture until saturated, than it will seperate.
  12. I have a 88 american skier 5.7 260hp. It gets my fat ass out of the water & does over 36mph @ 7500' elevation. What else do I need?
  13. @rawski You can use the cranking method if you stop the fuel flow. unburned fuel will wash oil off cylinders & seep into crankcase. Oil may not get onto cyl. walls very well in most engines it is splashed by the crank. yamaha probly has oil injector ports to spray cyls. Some newer v8 engines may have this also. air will allow rust to form unless all moisture is removed. ( vaccum )
  14. It's what feels good to you. If old faithful work for you try to find somthing the same. I've found the cheap handles do not last. Just bought a spectra handle from in tow. Feels great. As long as it last 2x as long as cheap handle I will be happy.
