@AdamCord I am a RFF and my fin is deeper by 35thous. on the left side. If use a washer under the middle screw of the fin box at the left side of the ski as recommended for RFF skiers, both sides will probably get even. Therefore should I use a thicker washer?

63 water, 70 air in Porto Heli (Ververoda) Greece last weekend, skied in an ONEIL shorty (long sleeves).

 

Tried the old Powershell modified to fit in my reflex plate. A lot softer than the Black Reflex did not feel as connected to the ski, need to try it again especcially on my hardest pass (35off) to be able to tell whether I like it more than the Reflex one.

Increasing fin length (ceteris paribus) should result in an increased fin area (isimilar to what the Denali Assymetric Fin results in) . Decreasing fin depth will decrease the fin area (which is what stated in the book as the 3rd solution). Therefore I am a bit puzzled.

 

Finally got mine, it arrived yesterday at the office. Thanks Jay. Started reading last night and came across at the remedies for the off-side turn (posted also in this thread). Decreasing fin depth looks that it is contradictory to what the Adam's describe under the assymetric fin system where its stated that heel side (on-side) turns benefit from a decreased fin depth compared to the toe side turns (off-side). Have I misunderstood something. Please give feedback Jay or any of the Adam's.

As we grow older we have to ski smarter, put more emphasis on technique the evolution of the skis, boats, boots makes it easier. Look at Nate Smith he is not super strong but he is more efficient than anybody else. Get pleasure from the whole "ritual" associated with a ski set and by improving your success rate not only at your hardest pass but also on the one before.

Very interesting. As with Nate's 2015 top 3 scores being lower than Chris ones, I am a bit puzzled as if not mistaken Nate in his last tournament of the season tied his world record 2,5@43.

The number of 41's he has run should be close to 90. Unbelievable skiing.

The 4 ball course does not make any sense for such a big tournament. There is no reason for competitors to opt for the word record in their category since it will no count. In addition, spectators that are not familiar with the sport (the ones supposedly you want to attract in such an event) that the slalom course consists of 4 balls. Such a mess...

 

Although I have never been in a school in Florida nobody mentioned the most important (in my opinion) aspect in getting a good coaching. Is the "coach" also the driver and watches you through the mirror or by turning his head while driving or sits next to the driver and has the full view and understanding of your skiing.

The XTM and the Nano Twist Mid are the best skis I have ever ridden. Have not tried the FT as currently I ski on an XTM . (Goode skis I have been on through the years in addition to the 2 mentioned above : 9100, 9200 White, 9500, 9600, 9900SL)

Ski 70% in salt water and 30% in fresh water training PB's and performance are identical. Also used to ski 90% in tournaments on salt water but for the last 4 years only in fresh water and my PB's are about the same (1-2 buoys improvement but due to technique and equipment improvements).

Swithed from Powershells to Reflex 3 years ago due to achilles tendonitis issues with the back foot. Kept the powershell rear boot but modified to release like the R-system. No problem adapting to the change and no issues with the release so far (better than with the dual lock).

Still I do not want to believe what happened.... , a huge loss for the waterskiing family. An idol for so many...THE GOAT

Shocked and sad, definitely the GOAT. I was very lucky to have a long chat with him (for two hours) in Poros Greece, 2 years ago, while waiting for the conditions to improve and finally had a quick set with him coaching. Amazed of how friendly and approachable he was despite the fact that he was a legend. My condolences to his family

Happy for Fred, I knew he was going to be the one that would challenge Nate.

Unfortunate that such a great competition with incredible skiing by both Nate and Freddie was decided by poor judging
