  1. Nick Fragistas, I believe there was an article on him on waterski mag March or April issue (if not mistaken), there is wall post of him at La Guardia airport in NY. He skied his first competition after 121 days from surgery and went deep into 35 off.
  2. chef23 the MID was the best ski I have ever had and when it broke and hade to replace it with N1 I really struggled and never was as consistent as with the MID and also my buycount fell. Last September I got an XTM and in my opinion is even better than the original. In your shoes I would definitely try an XTM.

  3. Ski 70% of my time in salt water (lagoon) and I have done my PB in training in salt water. Also my tournament PB is the same on both fresh and salt water (for the last 3 years however I have not compete in a tournament held in salt water). Feels a bit faster but when water temperatures are above 86F it is easier.
  4. Last weekend air went down to 65 and water to 68 compared to 86 and 82 respectively from three weeks ago (23rd of September). Expected to be back up to 77 and 73 for next weekend and the following week. I went from bare skin to the 1mm Camaro and hopefully back to shorts. Temperatures are mild usually until mid December (low 70's to mid - high 60's) but the last 2 years managed to have 3 to 4 sets per month even in January and February (will try to do the same this year).
  5. mylemsky thanks I hope the feedback has been useful. We have another competition coming on the 25th-26th of October hopefully I will break my PB, although as weather cools down and the day shortens there will be few opportunities for a midweek training.
  6. Last weekend I had my 2nd competition of the season and 1st on the XTM. Conditions were challenging especially temperature wise due to unexpectedlly bad weather for this time of the year (air 17C water 23C from 30C and 25C respectively of last weekend and September so far), almost matched my competition PB with 2,5at 35off (PB is 3at 35off) but after an excellent start (1 and 2) and rushing 3 (a common mistake also in practice that drives down my success rate at 35off significantly).
  7. I have used the slot fin for years on different skis (Fisher, Goode 9900, Nano Twist Mid and Nano One), I was always skiing better on the slot fin than on the standard fins.

For the last two weeks I am on 65,5 XTM with a standard fin at factory settings, the ski feels awesome and decided not to play around (There are no settings for wider skis like the Mid and the XTM on Schnitz's site, I was running the fin on the Mid longer and a bit more shallow).

  8. mylemsky From last June (when my Nano Twist Mid 65 broke) until mid July I was on a 66 Nano One from mid July until mid September on a borrowed Nano Twist Mid 65 like the one that broke (run a practice PB on it of 3@38). Until now the latter was the best ski I have ever ridden (using a slot fin with different settings than the ones posted at Schnitz's site (significantly longer and a bit shallow - 2,554).

The XTM is an improved Mid, it has amazing turns on both sides (first time I feel that I can correct mistakes made previously in a pass on my offside turn) and carries cross-course speed effortlessly. Have done 10 sets so far on it as I am mainly a weekend skier (sometimes I manage to have one set midweek).

  9. This ski rocks, I had 4 four sets over the weekend and run 35off on every set (first time in my life), using factory settings on the standard fin (up to now I was on the slot fin). Not yet into 38off.

There is a lot of hype with the new Mapple T-series, in my opinion the performance of Andy and Jeff is not indicative of what a ski can do (these guys where co-world record holders with 1@9,75 at 36mph years ago when skis and boats technology was not so advanced) but rather of the average Jo.

Horton do you plan to test the new Goode's any time soon?
