Thank you for all your responses! I agree with getting permission. If I’m going to do this, I want to do it right. Looks like I need to start doing some research on permits. I’m thinking the permits needed are likely the same ones our yacht club acquires to set our racing courses. No resident owns out into the lake, so I think I’ll have to go through the state. NY

So is there anyone out there that has gone through the process of dropping a course on a public lake( not a portable course) ? My friends tell me to just do it, drop it. I grew up with stories of having courses and jumps on The lake. Why not now? If access to our sport is the problem, isn’t putting a public course in worth the BS it might entail? There are far more dangerous things going on on The lake than is skiing a course.

I always wear ice picks and check the ice thickness in multiple areas before I go ice boating. And never alone

What was your most fun ski moment(s) of 2021? Mine was going to ski school for the first time in the spring, and spectating at worlds in the fall.

I went for Rome City and gallon of water each day. Did the body good. BBQ on site, smoothies and curry. Skiing is top notch ?

I’m interested in going down to Sunset Lakes to watch Worlds in a couple weeks but I can’t find any info on what to expect. Is there a link somewhere that I’m not seeing?Is there an area for spectators? Do I buy tickets? Are there vendors? Can I bring a chair and a couple beers? What should I expect if I head down there? Thanks for the info!

I had the same boat and only free skied on it. I never had my tank above 1/4 full, skied 34-36 mph usually 28-32 off and the wakes were actually pretty nice!

I watched the Swiss last year and it was probably the first time I had watched any skiing on TV since Mapple and Cox back in the day. It pretty much fired me up and got me out to try the course for the first time down @theboardingschool in March. I’ve become a ski contentivore, bought a 93 mc Prostar and am fired up for the ski season! Anyone else pumped to see what the pros bring on Sunday?! I know I am!
