  1. @skihard - I skied with @schafer on Monday. The water at his place (near Lacombe) was 71F... Warm enough for just a neo top. It's still a different story at the big lakes, though...
  2. @schafer in this case it was simply an issue of the boat not being ready. Don't worry... You and I will ski tomorrow :)
  3. The ice may have only come out last week. But here is how the day started and finished in Northern Alberta. Good first day at the lake.
  4. We have an HO Freeride for exactly the reasons you described. We ended up selecting a 67", simply because the weight range of 130-190lbs covered practically anyone who would ever be riding with us. The Freeride is the only ski of this nature that we've ever owned, so my sample size is small. But... we've been really happy with it and would certainly recommended it to anyone.
  5. Woke up to this today. 10-15cm forecast by this afternoon. So there's that...
  6. @sunvalleylaw - Just as a follow up, here's a link to the Google Photos album so you can see the full resolution version of the pictures - pics of 66" D3 Z7
  7. @sunvalleylaw - As luck would have it, I've got a 66" Z7 for sale, right in your price range. Have a look here - 2010 66" D3 Z7. If you have any questions, please just let me know!
  8. Like @Than_Bogan , I don't handle cold water particularly well. This is challenging being that I live in Alberta. I'm both excited and dreading the day when @schafer calls me and says the ice is out. Might need to invest in a dry suit this year...
  9. Awesome. So awesome. Probably my favourite episode so far. Really enjoyed the technical aspects. Great work, @MarcusBrown
  10. I'm in the market for a new vest this year. I have a propensity to injure ribs, so rib protection is going to be important in whatever I buy. The last post in this thread is from a couple years ago. At the time, it seemed that Radar X-Vest, O'neil Outlaw, O'neil Slasher, and Eagle vests were identified for best rib protection. Any updates to this? Confirmations, or new / different ideas? The Camaro Impact (and Impact 2.0) vests seem interesting as well... and they specifically mention rib protection.
  11. For @Horton or anyone else who has ridden this ski... any thoughts on pros/cons vs Graphite Senate? Given PU core, I think that would be the most comparable Radar ski?
  12. I live in Edmonton, Alberta. Daylight on Dec 20 - 7:27:40 Daylight on Jun 20 - 17:02:46 So... yeah. Looking forward to those long summer evenings in a huge way!!!
  13. This is the scene in my backyard at the moment. Getting organized for cross-country skiing race season now. First race is six weeks away and I'm starting to be really excited!!!
  14. Think @Than_Bogan said it best... Camaro is straight up alien tech. The stuff defies expectations... and frankly defies logic. It is so, SO very good. Suggest you buy some Camaro. You won't regret it.
  15. @gmut - as per @eddie_roberts_jr post above: "As you may have already heard, the 2017 Senate is the same shape as the 2016 Vapor with .2" added to the width." So, yes, 0.2" wider than the Vapor.
  16. @hemlock, I agree with @Mark_Matis. It's really more like a $350 difference based on today's FX rates. Certainly, that is not insignificant, but a bunch of that delta will get absorbed by shipping, customs, and duties. The total cost difference, to actually get the ski from the store into your house, might not be as much as it seems.
  17. @Horton Sooooo.... you liked it, then? :p
  18. "Shalom Park is unbelievable. This is a world record site," said Daniel Odvarko after his ride. Really fun to have the pros here putting on a great show.
  19. @Bill22 I'm afraid I don't have much of anything intelligent to say about either question. 1) I think the water temperature is probably in the mid 70s. But must admit I haven't checked in a while. To me that feels pretty warm compared to how we start the year. But guessing it's quite cold compared to the average USA temperatures you referenece? 2) Don't think there was a runoff in that case. But I was volunteering yesterday and the rush was on at the BBQ for burgers at that time. Pretty sure the only runoff was the one with Corey.
  20. @Horton @skidawg @Bill22 I was onsite today and, at the very least, he was on a ski with the 2017 graphics. I can only assume that also means it also had the 2017 PMI core.
  21. Don't think there is a web cast. But results are being live tweeted at @skishalompark
  22. Is it a replacement for the Sport Nautique? That's what I was trying to figure out. Not clear on the answer so far. It was my understanding that the Sport Nautique shared the same hull as the 200. The brochure for the GS20 seems to indicate that it shares characteristics with the 200's hull, although it doesn't explicitly say it's the same. Seems like the Sport Nautique was a ski boat that you could do other activities behind. This seems more like a wake boat that you can ski behind. Appears to be a shift in focus.
  23. @Horton stock settings are here - MC settings 29 3/8 for the 66.5, according to the chart.
  24. For what it's worth, here is the Waterski Magazine review from 2005 - review
  25. @Horton that's fine, just not inside your wetsuit. There are rules against that.
