  1. What happened to the boat early in the women's preliminary round?
  2. Given that just about everybody's opener is an opt-up, is not there a lot of precedent on this ruling?
  3. @klindy @rodb Earlier in the thread, the two of you questioned whether boat video can be used for gates. By chance, a few years later, do either one of you, or anybody else, have an answer to that question? Also, can a boat video review judge challenge a gate call that was unanimously made by the two tower judges during an AWSA record tournament operating with the two tower judges, a boat judge, a boat video review judge and the appropriate cameras? Rule 10.8 covers a mechanism for the boat video review judge to challenge the score determined by the event judges, but the rule does not mention a mechanism in which the boat video review judge can challenge the gate call. Rule 10.13 also states that the gate call and the score determination are separate decisions. Any responses are appreciated and please post a link if there is some language somewhere that would give a boat video review judge permission to challenge a gate call under the configuration described. Thank you.
  4. Arms in for safety as soon as mass is no longer over ski. Will keep them from seperating from torso. You never want your shoulder to be referred to as a "bald eagle."
  5. Sure there are some health benefits, and risks. If regular course skiers had to pay a risk adjusted health insurance premium, the number of participants would likely be even smaller. Does that mean it is an unhealthy activity?
  6. And, at least during December, they had two Ski Nautique 200s. The second was purchased solely for redundancy. They intend not to disappointment.
  7. Engines don't "know" what octane is being run. They do know if knock is present and retard ignition momentarily to cool the cylinder. The ignition adjustment is practically instantaneous. Once the load is reduced, optimal timing is restored because the temp falls and no knock is detected. Run 87 and be happy. If you plan to use your boat as a low speed tug boat requiring sustained full throttle operation, go for the 93.
  8. Maybe Enovation Controls could clear everything up...fairly certain they know. But the speculation is entertaining...
  9. @spartanskier10 Only if you went to public schools like me. At those fancy private academies it comes out to.... 13000÷620 = 20.967741935 or approx. 21/hr.
  10. @richarddoane, did you pay $39840? Probably works better if you bought used. Thanks for sharing the price. So little transparency in the boat market.
  11. Damn. He may be a little abrasive, but @OB seems to have his finger on the pulse. $12/hr is about exactly the hit I took selling a perfect 200. Coincidence?
  12. I'm with @OB. And I know first hand that the 2012 200 he mentioned on SIA is absolutely perfect. It has seen less sunshine and felt less humid air than most of us. AND the listing says "negotiable." Some of the asking prices are just there to frame the negotiation. Follow some eBay auctions and you'll see where the bids come in. Here's some food for thought. 13. As long as there is only one Korean Elly out of LA, she's legit and is the middleman.
  14. Sold a 200 to a South Korean buyer. Never talked. Money was prompt and green. Thinking if i had to converse in Korean i would avoid the telephone as well.
  15. Thanks @swc5150. The boat always gets lots of compliments. And everyone that has driven it has been really impressed. Definitely a good one. I'm a big fan of eBay whether I'm buying or selling. It does offer a bit of price transparency in an otherwise opaque and very illiquid market. A little talked about bonus is that eBay does offer some protection for the buyer. http://pages.ebay.com/motors/buy/purchase-protection/index.html The buyer is certainly better off doing the transaction through eBay than not. I just relisted my boat. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121488757857?forcerRptr=true&item=121488757857&viewitem= If the bids are similar to my last auction, the boat will sell. I was $900 dollars high previously, but at least there was some price discovery and anyone bidding on my boat now knows that there are buyers at my price point. Shouldn't have to take an immediate hit in value when buying a previously owned product on the private market. That should be expected when buying retail, from a dealer, but not when buying from an individual owner.
