  1. Those medals could use some up-grading. On-site engraving could be considered. I built a CNC router from scratch and it was pretty easy and I probably have less than $200 invested. They could then be personalized with the name of the contestant. Engraving looks so much better than printing..
  2. As a guy who used to be a very active skier in the 60's, I can't see why anyone would care what color the ramp surface is. I remember a few different color surfaces and had no complaint or problems surrounding the color. I think Piqua Ohio had a light blue fiberglass surface and it was great. I don't even remember what color our home ramp was. The only times I had issue with the jump was when we encountered a 12' wide jump! That threw my cut off due to the way I determined the start of my cut. Regards the photo at the top; Looks just about right to me! Not late at all, but getting that left shoulder a little closer to the water might be required with Ramp Masters on your feet! ha ha..
  3. We had a 19' Crosby with 2 Mercs on the back (135's I think). Was a big favorite for most at the tourneys of the time. That was in the mid 60's. Wake was very small at jumping and slalom speeds.
  4. Kevin, what is the nature of your "struggle"? Just wondering if you are having trouble riding out landings, landing right side up, or what. Since you have already tried a range of sizes, were you as comfortable on the longer skis? I'm talking about skiing on the water, jumping wakes, cutting around etc. If so, I would consider getting the longer ski. Which ever way you go, time on the water is key. You must feel supremely confident on your approach to the ramp.
  5. Ham Wallace...I think we knew each other back in the day.. Anyway, the name sounds familiar. Ron Trobaugh here. I skied out of Ohio in the 60's.
  6. Guess I must be nuts! Water ski leaping is the bomb! Went over the jump a couple times last Sat. after more than 45 years off.. Is it me or did water get harder? Saw Tony Krupa mentioned above.. I knew him back in the day!
