  1. The grass is always greener on the other side, isn’t it? Good luck with a new organization, I prefer to water my own :)
  2. Be careful in Denver with jump skis. They put them vertically on the oversized carousel! They took out a chunk of drywall and fortunately we rescued them before the big snap!
  3. this incredible 15-year old kid Nathan from Oregon was an awesome slalom skier, he used to ski tourneys. Currently 6’7” with over 7ft wingspan and growing; someone like him could do it. But he’s going to the NBA, heard there’s more $ ?
  4. So they are not using the new ML ropes at this event. It’s a KD event with their ropes. We asked since we had been using the new ML ropes at home. @Ed_Johnson
  5. https://www.moombamasters.com.au/2019-entrants/ Here are the entrants. I’m not sure if any officials from US are going.
  6. If we make any move wouldnt it make sense to align with IWWF? Do their age groups follow the calendar year or something similar to “after Nationals”? Most sports are based on birth year, versus aging out after a specific event. (Like Nationals) Not sure what IWWF observes.
  7. There is a new ski school near Acapulco in Pie de La Cuesta that looks super legit. Nice accommodations with lagoon skiing on one side and literally right on the beach the other side. Looks amazing and couldn’t ask for a nicer coach. His name is Craig Irons. Contact info: cjirons58@gmail.com He coached At Bell Acqua for years and just made the leap to start the new school. You will have a great time with Craig!

  9. With a “bad” ski birthday you currently start skiing 36mph at age 13. Waaaay too young. At 14 our son was able to get his Open rating in all 3 events which was super cool, but a lot of stress on a young body. There is such a big difference in boys year to year and 17 (16 if you have a bad bday!) versus 25 makes even less sense.
  10. It was already unfair before. There is a ton of growth in a year for boys & girls. Our son was in 8th Grade and in Boys 3, so the proposed rule change would have had him in 7th grade competing at 36mph. He will always be the youngest in his division unless they do straight age and not based on date of Nationals.
  11. Agree! This will be our 3rd year attending King of Darkness and it never disappoints! Bring your skis, lots of coaching available in the area!
  12. Yes sorry couldn’t figure out how to post the video here! Getting spoiled with beautiful fall weather here in NorCal so figured T-Rex needed a ride ?
  13. Scores look good to me! (In some pretty horrible conditions) Early falls by some very talented Open-level skiers as well. At the college level there is a wide range of abilities and most importantly, it’s fun!
  14. Curtis is an excellent announcer. Witty and knows almost everyone and all 3 events so well!
  15. There’s usually someone around at Bell Lake 2 or 3. Text Steve 541-250-2991 when you get there!
  16. Any truth that it was a 13-year old driver?! Poor kid
  17. Thanks all!!! 104 subscribers and counting! The Ball of Spray tourney, Cali ProAm and Bell Acqua Record up next!
  18. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ-HYpD3cwY&feature=youtu.be Please check out & “subscribe” to this awesome YouTube channel, NorCal Waterskiing. Watch events like Shortline Record, Ball of Spray Cash Prize and the California ProAm and more. We need 100 subscribers for a custom link. George Canepa is a whiz with this camera system and now you can watch skiing in the comfort of your own home :)
  19. The Crowne Plaza on Madison Ave is very close and nice & reasonably priced. If you want unique you can stay downtown on the Delta King boat. Natomas has some good options too. Wherever you stay, DO NOT leave your gear in the car! Unless you want to borrow a ski from Horton.
  20. Its awesome! So fun to watch and a great learning tool! Still scratching my head that our son got no credit on side slides in both his B3 AND his OM run. (he was super careful to do em well after the 1st round) Ha ha! We can tease him forever now. Great learning tool!
