As my first tournament is approaching this Saturday :#. How much do you ski? What do you work on? How are your nerves? Besides my ski equipment, food, liquid, shelter to stay out of the Florida sun what else should I take?
-
Traver's live in Orlando so i will go, with 10 plus of my ski buds to watch

June 13th my first tournament finally, first two were cancelled. Not a good date number for my first tournament

Well that’s odd I have two cables one to the transmission and one to the throttle position sensor so does the 2012 200 sitting on my left right now
-
@UWSkier my 08 196 with ZO has a cable
-
@MattP I believe he said the lakes are made long and narrow for perfect conditions

I have been using SEM marine vinyl coat for the past couple years dries very fast comes in yellow, red and green no orange. I use a green Scotch-Brite pad to clean the buoys in the lake and then spray paint the tops without removing them. They stay bright for about a year in the Florida sun. They would last longer if the birds did not crap all over them

I am excited to track my runs with this. I ski behind 3 different boats on the same lake my 08 196 5.7L duel puck, 2012 200 5.7L duel puck and a 2018 200 6L single puck. Will be interesting to see how I ski over time behind each boat. Especially sense i have not skied the course this year behind my 196 I will tomorrow.

Stealth gloves are great been using for about a year no wear, Masterline are nice to. Use to like Boas but when they went inside out the fingers were lose i guess if you have fat fingers they would fit snug.

I ski behind a 2012 200 with a 5.7 dual puck and a 2018 200 with a 6L Sometimes ski one in the morning and the other later in the day, I ski the same. The 5.7 gets up to speed easily on my short lake. What is odd is the 2018 28 off I hit the roster tail like i do at 22 off. The 2012 at 28 off is smooth at 32 off they both feel the same smooth. So i would say ski behind before you buy. Both boats have under 100 hours so their like new. I love my 2008 196 with 5.7 but realy like the 200's they have less movement when driving skiers through the course they just take a little time to get use to after driving hundreds of hours with my 196

Everyone skis differently there is no way that if someone did ski them all you would like what they like. With a boot placement change and/or fin tuning you change how it skis. You have to try them or it"s a crapshoot

@Rednucleus I have been skiing on a 2018 D3 NRG I just bought a new 2018 NRG from D3 I have only pulled it out of the box to set the Fin to the one i am using. I will try it this weekend to see if it skis any different.

@MISkier To funny, It would take the whole lake to turnaround

Somewhere i read that the movement that we feel with MC is that the fins under the boat are placed behind the ski pole causing the front of the boat to move around more. Making new drivers to MC's over react until they get use to it. Malibu and SN 's are placed forward of the ski pole. Maybe a MC engineer can explain why they made the change compared to older MC's and on any new models they would move them forward.

It's not really a boat war, in my case i am looking to replace my boat this winter with a used 2020 boat. My wants in a boat shouldn't be that far off from every one else. I have several different drivers during the week and i want something that is easy to drive for everyone for my sake. I also have many skiers that ski with me most ski 15 off there are a few that are working on 28-35 off i want a wake that makes everyone happy. But if the driver is battling trying to keep it straight then skiing is not fun. When shopping for a new ski living in Orlando I get to try many different skis on the same course behind the same boat. It would be nice to try a side by side comparison on the same course with my different drivers and skier to see what everyone likes. Sure there is going to be compromises but the one that is the easiest to drive and has the best wakes at all line lengths is the winner . I have skied behind all three manufactures boats and 28 off is great i have not driven them all. but for the person working on 15 off dealing with wakes and the 22 off person dealing with the rooster tail it matters.

Is there a new one coming soon?

Great gloves wear very well, have about 30 sets on them no problems. ML KPalms Med fit the same

@aupatking Great idea "The Manufacture's Cup" maybe three men and three women from each manufacture

I think it always circles back to, try before you buy. When I stared skiing the course I had the opportunity to try many skis and the high end just did everything better (easier turns, faster across course) Their were a few that would set more of an angle out of the buoy than I could hang onto at the time, did not know that a fin could be adjusted either. I put my GF on a mid line ski because she had never skied before and wanted a wider ski to make it
easier to get up on but that would turn and get her into turning buoys

In-Tow ropes and handles. Ordering a Masterline Gen 2 rope to use the week before a tournament, the feel is a little different. This was going to be my first year competing even payed for two, :already received my money back. Hopefully I will get to ski in one this year
-
Yep, not going to stop skiing

The lake is glass and I’ve skied so much I had to take today off. Downside is it’s supposed to be windy the next two days
