  1. @condorpilot . I had the same dilemma. I weigh about 185-190. I went with the 67. Works great. Supports me just fine. The sticker on ski says it goes up to 200 lbs. I ski 28 - 30 also.
  2. Vtx is a great choice.... But a little pricier of course
  3. That video doesn't show any washers. The screws seem to tighten fine without that plate in back.
  4. @Daddyodaman A friend of mine has a wakesetter xti... 2004 I think. I'm not sure how much that would differ from a 2000 xti... maybe just has ballast tanks and a tower included. I've skied behind it a few times. It's not bad for a crossover at 31mph+ With the wedge and factory ballast the wakeboarding wake is pretty nice (if you're into that). The layout is fairly user friendly. There's a decent amount of space/seating. It's pretty similar in capacity to my VTX. It has a little less storage than a v drive .... but more than a direct drive. I would say that it would seat 6-7 adults or 4 adults + some kids very comfortably. I'd say the xti layout is nothing to be worried about.
  5. I looked up the sequence plate....that is not what I have. The screws seemed to snug down appropriately without bottoming out first without the plate.
  6. I have the thin aluminum frames under each boot that attaches to the ski
  7. @markchilcutt I have one plate attached to each boot... So I guess not what you are describing. So those little washers do go underneath the plate. Ski is a 67. What's the purpose of the boomerang piece on top of the plate? Thanks.
  8. Hope everyone is getting a good set in today. 75 and sunny here today and going to try out my new Senate Graphite. I went to put the bindings on and was a bit confused by the hardware. I have the profile bindings. 1) Where do the washers go with regards to the binding plate? I was presuming that the metal plate goes directly on the ski... then the washer on top of the plate and then put the screw in? Are the washers instead some kind of spacer that goes under the plate? 2) Also... there is a boomerang shaped metal piece that I presume goes underneath on of the heels as a riser... is this optional? How does this get put on if I want to use it? 3) As best I can find from multiple threads here the front binding is supposed to be 29.5 inches from the back of the ski. A few threads have mentioned measuring to the "stitching". The boot just looks like there is some horizontal stitching that goes around the back of the heel. The only reference i found on radars site is that a pro skier suggested "the center hole" for binding placement. In the center hole the back of the boot is exactly 29.5 inches... so I guess this is right? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to trying the ski out later this afternoon and just want to make sure I got it set up right! Hope everyone is skiing today.
  9. @crashman for what it's worth I was struggling with the question of a 67 or 69 because I'm in the middle of the weight ranges between those (for either a Senate graphite or a CX superlite). The opinions of most people on here seemed to be that at 190 lbs I should go with the 67. I chose the Senate because it seems to be just a little wider. I did think about a 68 Vapor... but for me that's probably too much ski at the moment. The Senate is arriving today. I didn't really have any good demo options... so I just took a chance on it. Ironically a day after I ordered it a thread got started on here about Senate vs CX superlite.... with everyone chiming in that the CX was a lot better. I'm hoping they're not completely right!
  10. I hope the HO CX Superlite isn't a lot better than the Senate Graphite because I just ordered a Senate yesterday. I was trying to decide between those two and the Connelly Carbon V. My final conclusion was that I'm sure they're all good skis and probably all about the same level with each other (price... place in lineup). I went with the Senate because I was at the top of the weight range for both skis and the Senate seemed like it'd be a little wider (just because it mentioned this in relation to the Vapor). With regards to @Garn I would think that it would be important to know if they were comparing apples to apples.... ie... carbon fiber ski to carbon fiber ski or not.
  11. Thanks @Billbert . I was thinking of going with the profile bindings. Looks much more comfortable.
  12. Thanks. Just the info I was looking for. Sounds like the 67 is the winner. @Billbert did you go with the Profile bindings or the the Vector?
  13. @Youd270 I'm not sure I could justify the $550 increase in price to myself. It looks like the size choices are the same. I had thought about a 68" vapor... but thought that probably wouldn't be appropriate for my ability level....and may end up having the same surface area as the 67 senate. This is my first step up in a ski in 4 years (currently on 69" F1x)... so anything is going to be a huge difference for me. Thanks!
  14. Trying to make a final decision on which ski to get. The final contenders are the HO CX superlite and Senate Graphite. I'm sure either one would make a great next ski for me. I seem to be right in the middle of the size ranges between a 67 and a 69. My weight ranges between 185 and 195... obviously my goal is to be closer to 185... which should be doable. In reading through as many posts as I could find here most people seemed to advise going with the shorter ski... indicating that at least the Senate 67 should be good up through 200 lbs. I was wondering if skiing style had anything to do do with a good choice. I ski the course mostly.... free ski a little. I can pretty consistently make passes at 28 mph. I made a few at 30 mph last year. I would think that I'd spend most of my time at 30-32 mph in the coming year. I would describe my style as more on the cautious side. I don't push it a lot and therefore don't crash big a lot. Yeah... I know.. if I fell a lot more I'd probably progress faster... but to me the increased chance of injury isn't worth the more rapid success. So... anyone at my weight and ability have any thoughts on 67 vs 69? Maybe I should just get one of each! Would 69 be more stable.... less chance of going OTF? Would a 67 progress faster through the course? Thanks in advance for any input.
  15. I'm looking to get a new ski for the spring. The 2015 skis by HO look pretty appealing. I ski the course at 28-30mph, 15 off.... sometimes do some free skiing. Currently have been skiing on a Connelly F1X with sidewinder bindings for the last 4 years. Has anyone had any experience with the CX vs the CX superlite? Is it worth the extra $400 for the lighter ski? Also.... has anyone tried the vmax or xmax boots? Any preference? Thanks in advance. All I can do is dream about skiing for the next 4 months here in Ohio
