  1. Course was blown out this am but skied anyways. Bobble head! All six at 29 mph. Didn't learn much but I really think the senate is the best ski I've ever owned.
  2. I just brought home a new 2017 senate graphite. I bought it at Shushwap in Calgary and got great service! I struggled with the length and settled on a 67 inch. (195 , 5-11, 32 mph in course, looked at 28 off once last year, 34 free skiing). I got up much easier that on my old Connelly F1 68 ". Didn't like my first go at the course this morning but while free skiing this evening I think I figured out that I need to bend that front RFF knee and suddenly the ski responded. It's very quick out of the turn and to the white water ... but stable. The glide is fast but carrying speed in the turn seems easier than I've ever experienced. Tomorrow will tell the tale in the course again.
  3. Quebecers are crazier than all the rest of Canadians put together.
  4. Question for @RazorRoss3 , you mentioned rear arm pressured but not what you are trying to do- are you for it or against it? Are you trying to balance the pull on both arms? Does this draw your shoulders more towards the back of the boat?
  5. If you can remember the sixties you didn't really Live the sixties. I can remember though that I got up first time I tried, 1963, behind our neighbor's brand new evinrude. He had just re-powered to one of the biggest out boards on the lake from his green johnson 25 hp. Cederstrip Peterborough 14 ft. Barely remember the next 7 years....
  6. Good Friday in Halliburton was very good. The ice in our bay went out and the LXI was mostly "unwinterized". The docks went in with only modest ice damage. (Need to level and shim again, one anchor is lost in the deeps). I broke the tee coolant fitting on the RHS exhaust manifold DOH. No we wait for the part - and warmer water. Katherine's Easter present is a new Lyric, can't wait to see the look on her face!
  7. Thanks for the advice! It's always nice to start the season ship shape. Docking adventures, kids and dogs leave their marks over the years. I personally insist on shoes off but lots of deaf ears.
  8. @oldjeep what do you mean by simple green? I have a 2004 Lxi too with a grey carpet with food&drink and a little motor oil as well. Also the drive shaft cover is collapsing and my plywood fix didn't last very long. Any one have any ideas? Ice out in a month! (Fingers crossed)
  9. First time ever skiing in February! My daughter and I skied at the Boarding School in Orlando yesterday morning. It was sunny and warm, low 70's. (Toronto is just now recovering from two snowstorms last week). We demo'd a new Lyric for Katie and a 2017 Senate Alloy for me. Travis is an amazing and patient coach. I have two take-aways to think about till Ice out in April/ may. I've been letting go too early before my turns causing immediate loss of width, and I've been pulling my arms in slightly rather than "hang loose with shoulders relaxied and slightly rolled in" while approaching the white water. We both have lots of sore muscles today!
  10. It sounds like this might be theski for me. I'm 195 lb 5'-11. Ski mostly at 32 in the course, 22 off completed about 25% of the time. Haven't gotten too far into 28 though. Free ski about half the time, always at 34 with 28-32 off.....sometimes in lots of boat waves. Current ski is Connelly FI..... Jamie was my inspiration We're going to orlando this weekend. What ski should I demo? I don't want to remove the wing, does it matter? My 16 year old daughter " might ski" if it's a low stress site....any recommendations?? Thanks for any and all advice. Ps it's snowing heavily in toronto and we really need to get away.
  11. @gyoung , how does he like the ski? What speed/length is he skiing at? More details would be appreciated as that ski is on my list of "possibles" too.
  12. Decided to come up to the cottage today to snow blow the driveway and make sure that the roof was OK and the plumbing still watertight. - 8C and about 14 inches of ice. It's going to be a while before the LXI rumbles back to life.
  13. A second panda would be a great honor! Exclusive territory! Like running 15 off for the first time!
  14. I agree that Verstappen has some talent but he is hard to like. No rules seem apply to him..... just take a short cut off track and pretend it never happened. I wonder if Alonso still has it to win if Honda develops a few more hp?
  15. And from the real Canada. If you fall through the ice ( we do have two weeks per year of poor sleding!) businessinsider
  16. Sorry @davidN . That dislike was an taping error-fat finger!
  17. I had the same problem with our 2004 LXI. I "hot wired " the kill switch , problem solved. I think the corrosion and heat finally got to the switch and rendered it in operative. I don't expect to get thrown from the boat anytime soon so there's very little risk to taking the switch out.
  18. Have look at the lanyard kill switch. My 2004 LXI cranked without firing one morning. After a lot of frustration on that glass morning, I snapped the switch a few times and success. I've since bypassed the switch entirely
  19. We had a boat demo and comparison morning on Crystal Lake Ontario , the course was blown out but our bay was good enough for some head to head pulls. Malibu owners voted Malibu, SN and Master Craft too, tie, they're all the best. Fun was had by all.cid:image009.jpg@01D1BF6A.73E94100
  20. @Orlando76 , I heard it ramp up for Freddy too. I wonder which ZO setting he's using...he sure seems to be working the engine harder than the others
  21. Sort of happy in Haliburton Ontario this Good Friday because the calendar says four more weeks, although it's hard to believe!
  22. Is this all just a grand deception? Have the wakeboarders finally won the war?
  23. I think it's tomorrow afternoon already.... And I can't find any results yet!
