  1. Thanks@GregHind. My F1 is 68 inches, I'm 200 lbs. 3-4 passes without stoping is all I'm good for but I'm over sixty now . A less tiring ski sounds like a dream.
  2. Hmm. Thanks. Christmas is coming. Is lighter always better or are the flex and shapes improved too?
  3. Still loving my F1 with Enzo boots. Much heavier than newts skis....but tracks well and feels very secure. Trying to get through 22 off at 32. Should I be shopping?
  4. I always remove the hoses and fill them with RV antifreeze...... After draining the block and heater. 15 successful years in Ontario outdoor storage
  5. I have never skiied on a private lake but have watched from shore and spotted from the boat. I like to think that our Saturday and Sunday morning group (6 or 7 direct drives - but never before 9 am!) are pretty good at tough conditions. We may be building up skills that can help in tournaments but still have a collective sigh when a tubber or bass boat "runs the course" while we wait our turns. Weekdays however are great.
  6. I didn't know there a course on Clear Lake. Free skied there twenty years ago, nice lake in the mornings!
  7. When you launch the boat for the first time after in- winterizing and it over heats 3/4 mile from the ramp. Enough tools on board to change the impeller. Overheats again. Adrift. Bass boat offers a tow. Deep contemplation reveals that the raw water intake should have been connected on the starboard side! LXI ran great for the rest of the season.
  8. I have a 2004 LXI and tow it behind a Q5 Audi with the supercharged 3 litre V6. It as amazing torque off idle, like a diesel , and lots of top end. For more space the Q7 would be ideal. Never had a hint of tire slip on our hard pack, fairly steep ramp.
  9. Course will come out in Ontario on Saturday . Ski partner and I both tied our personal bests last Sunday morning. One more attempt each and a LONG WAIT till may 2016!!
  10. @6balls , I have that exact same tower on our LXI. It doesn't interfere at all with skiing, but I have bumped my head.....the kids like to dive off it! There is no problem at all IMO
  11. Let's hope there 's lots of TV coverage. There was a short article by/about Whitney in the Globe and Mail today.
  12. I was at the worlds at toronto Centre Island as well...a very ideal park setting but not as accessible, as a ferry ride is required.
  13. I've driven by the site, the grandstands are up. Jason McClintock apparently help set things up too. We got tickets to the finals by lottery months ago... I understand you can buy tickets to the preliminaries but don't know if more blocks will be available for the finals. It should be a great event, right at the western downtown lakeshore.....its protected by a breakwater and freshly lined with stone rip rap.
  14. Check your temperature gage, and raw water impeller
  15. I finally skied last weekend for the first time since mid October. It was less than 12 days since the ice went out on our Ontario lake north of Toronto. Shorty wetsuit barely enough to keep the heart going but when you 'numb up' its great to be skiing again. Hope to get the course in soon.
  16. I had a similar problem with our 2004 LXI last year, the speed would sometimes not settle back down after pulling a skier up. Winding up the knob on the PP servo would fix it for a while. All other checks proved ok. Finally it turned out that the throttle cable form the servo back had frayed inside the cable housing and was catching, the spring couldn't overcome the friction. A new cable fed ex'd from PP got us up and running before the next weekend
  17. I love my now aging connelly F1 with Enzo double boots. A couple of years ago I summer saluted at #3 and ripped the rear boot out of its screws. Couldn't ski for two weeks, black and blue, had to buy a new boot. Now I'm not tightening either binding nearly as much, especially the rear....Call me chicken. I actually enjoy the slightly freer rear heel.
  18. my LXI has open bow and tower, we use it as our lake runabout. It will fill the narrow bow with water when picking up a skier or tuber if you have a front passenger or two and aren't careful. The txi is better as it has a higher freeboard. Large lake equals rough ride but all in all the LXI is exactly what we needed.
  19. 2004 LXI PP, my daughter first slalomed behind the LXI at about 11 years old, before that she learned behind the 9.9 hp tin boat because she was a little nervous to ski behind the big boat. Now she's 14 and skis at 22 to 24 mph. The wake was pretty large but very soft and round at 16 to 18 mph. Now it's very nice at 24. She's mostly a recreational skier but has tried the inner buoys multiple times. We are totally happy with the LXI and the first year or so below 20 mph passes very quickly. Still waiting for the big thaw in Ontario!
