We may not be that good at the course(yet), but we give it our best and have so much fun. At 2:10 I found out what happens when you hit a bouy instead of skiing around it. I'm glad you guys like the video...We watch it and laugh so hard at our crashes. That's my wife that went out the front. Hopefully @Sethski, @Tevskis, and @CParrish43 can straighten us out a little in February.

@Bill22 no one was hurt during the filming of this motion picture lol. Jay only did one set, he had his kids out there and was getting them up on the boom. He had some humorous passes but didn't crash.

I asked him if the ski hit him and he said no, He was amazed at what the ski did when I showed it to him in slo mo.

@Bill22 you need to ski harder so we can really get some laughs! lol...We need to set the course up again soon.

I have a Galaxy S7 and using the Wakeye App video is really shaky. I have tried all the different resolutions, stabilization off and still get shaky videos. I use either my old 4s or GoPro. Anyone have an S7 with good results let me know how you have it setup, these phones have really good cameras but what good is that if the video is wavy.

I was bored waiting out a five hour layover at the airport last week and put this together. The first skier is me last year, the second is a friend of mine who said..."I've been skiing all my life, I can get around those buoys. I tried the link trick but couldn't get it to work.

Beaver Lake Ski Club up in Gates County isn't too far.

When I bought the 69" I was 220, I'm around 200 now.

@Bill22 I have a long way to go before I need another ski, I wonder if I should have bought a 67" instead of the 69" though.

I have a HO Radius 1s that I use to teach people who have never got up on a slalom ski before. The rubber on the front binding broke and new bindings won't fit because it's the old pattern. Does anyone have a binding like this they will sell? Does anyone have a source to replace thr rubber straps?(I have called HO and emailed Perf Surf and Ski) Ho did not recommend drilling new holes.

Here is my dilemma, I ordered a wakeye, upgraded my phone from 4s to 6s plus. Then I saw this and realized my new 128gb phone with large screen for my viewing pleasure is not going to work. I have 3 days left to go back to Verizon and get a different phone for only a $35 restock fee. What phones work best? Anyone use the samsungs? I'm not opposed to switching to android.

I would've gone to Ski Paradise years ago instead of waiting till my 40th birthday. That was last year, we fly out in the morning for this years trip.

Unfortunately good ole boy politics prevailed, with no logical reasons from the supervisors it was a 4-1 vote to keep the ban. There were about the same number of people that spoke that were for keeping it as were there for repealing it. here is exactly what I said at the hearing. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. Here is what I said at the hearing. The Chickahominy River was dammed up by man, but it was given to us by God. Walker's Dam was not built to keep skiers out. It was built to keep the salt water out. Everybody in this room knows this ordinance is wrong. It has no foundation according to state law, federal law, or the Public Trust Doctrine. This county does not have any reason to regulate which recreational activities can be enjoyed on public water. According to the minutes from 1979; The reason this regulation exists is because five people, boat landing operators, wanted to control the activities on a body of water they did not own. The attempts to defend this ordinance have absolutely nothing to do with skiing, they are nothing more than distractions from the real issue. Some people just don’t like water skiing. Water skiers may be the minority, but our right to enjoy public water is secured by the Constitution of Virginia, Article 11, Section 1. On January 8, 2013 the following was stated in the Virginia Court of Appeals, case of VMRC vs. Chincoteague Inn. "In Virginia, the public trust doctrine is as follows: The state holds the land lying beneath public waters as trustee for the benefit of ALL citizens. As a trustee, the state is responsible for proper management of the resource to ensure the preservation and protection of all appropriate current and potential future uses, including conflicting uses by the public." Mr. Davis, you told me back in July to go out there and ski. The commonwealth attorney and Sherriff Howard told you they would not enforce this. Chairman Stiers, a state Conservation Police Officer told you they would not enforce this ordinance. This is nothing more than a feel good ordinance that a few people want to keep in place for selfish reasons. If county and state law enforcement refuse to enforce 46-52, why on God's green earth would you vote to keep it in place. The state says it is ok to ski on this lake, Charles City says it is ok to ski on this lake, it is time for New Kent to say it is ok to ski on this lake. This hearing is not skiers against fishermen, we are not trying to restrict anyone from enjoying their sport on the water. This hearing is about much more than water skiing. The early history of this country is riddled with revolutionary thinkers that founded this country on the ideals of small government. Fundamental unalienable rights that we all naturally possess, along with the duty we have to stand up to our government when it begins to restrain the people and restrict their rights. How many other ordinances does this county have that are unnecessary? I think we should take a look and eliminate those that have no purpose, starting with 46-52. This all started back in July, it has been a very interesting journey for a couple of working class guys that just want to ski. I am grateful for the opportunity provided to the citizens to stand before this board and share our thoughts and concerns. Regardless of the outcome of this vote, I will hold my head high, knowing I have done my best and taken a stand on what is right. Board members, thank you for bringing this issue to a hearing, I am confident you will do what you believe in your hearts to be right, even if it is not popular.

It is public water, you can come here from anywhere in the world and use the lake. You do not have to be a county resident. I think it would have been beneficial to have some top people from national organizations call the supervisors and have a discussion. Let them know that folks on the national level are watching what they do with this. I personally don't think it matters how many people sign a petition. Public water is public water and this ordinance has no foundation or purpose. It's very existence represents small town good ole boy politics, the arrogance displayed by the obvious conflict of interests is unbelievable. I didn't start the petition, but I will support it. It might make a difference to one of the supervisors, it might not. When we started this back in July, several people in the county laughed and told us this issue would never see a public hearing. They are not laughing now.

I have been disappointed at the lack of interest in this issue from national organizations that claim to offer assistance in situations such as these. It seems that if it doesn't involve tournament skiing or it doesn't have a direct impact on them, folks just aren't interested.
