I enjoyed watching the tournament; the different video angles were great. I found it interesting that Nate wasn't in the top 10 for pull on the boat and that got me to thinking. Nate is 6'2" but a mere 165lbs. Given that he is so efficient on his ski, I wonder what size ski he rides? If he rides a 67, I'm going to need someone to make me a 72. I'm 6'2" but 205.

So, where is Lake 38 should someone want to go watch the event?

@Ed_Johnson For those of us that are new to fin tuning, can you explain how/where you are using the washers for the differential fin depth? And a pic or two would be even better.

I recently bought a ski on SIA. The add stated that it belonged to a 80 year old guy and was lightly used. Knowing that there aren't many 80 year olds skiing, much less 80 year olds skiing on a D3 ARC-S I got suspicious and asked if we could have a quick call. 30 minutes later I had an awesome call with this guy and should I ever travel to his area I would love to get out on the water with him and take a few sets. There are @ss holes everywhere but, I think the skiing community as a whole, is primarily composed of good, honest people.

Well I went with the D3 Arc-s, it should be here tomorrow.

 

Congratulations on the new ski but, most of all, 30 years of marriage. Our 30th is tomorrow and I have a D3 on the way for my anniversary present.

First time back in a course in roughly 30 years.

Reviving this thread as I still haven't pulled the trigger. I'm shopping on SIA so my options are always changing, especially since I'm shopping for a 68. So current skis that I'm considering:

2017 Lithium Vapor - new

2016 Lithium Vapor - new

2014 HO S2 - used

I'd also have the D3 Arc-s in the mix if there was one in my price range available. I let one get away last week.

There is also a D3 Arc (yellow), that is available. Slightly over my budget but I could swing it if it were the answer.

 

If I'd been in the market a couple of years ago I'd have been all over the S2; I've always read great things about that ski.

 

I'm really handicapped by not being able to demo so any feedback is appreciated.

Guys, I'm considering getting a pair of the 2016 Profile bindings and wanted to come here first and get some thoughts from anyone that may have or had them. Any big concerns with them and how true to size are they? thx

@Horton nailed it, copy of the old EZ fin tool. Only asked him to make the one but, they have the drawing now and could cut out any number of them on their cnc.

Needed or wanted a fin tool to help with measuring my fin settings. I drew up a sketch and sent it to by brother-in-law who is a machinist. Turned out pretty good and works like a charm.
