  1. @scotchipman I've been skiing on it and it is an amazing ski. I took it to my club and a couple of guys tried it and order theirs. One was on a Warp and told me that is faster and more stable. The other one is on a Mapple T3. I'm amazed at how quickly it accelerates, turn smoothly and it is very easy on the edge change. I'm no expert but if you try it you will not be disappointed. I wish @Horton could do a review, specially because being a Warp fan, and the guy who rides the Warp here telling me he likes it more.
  2. @savaiusini, What is the difference in performance betweee the super lite vs. the standard CX or TX?

  4. @ozski I bought an MC ski a month ago, I've been travelling a lot so I have not been on it as much as I'd like to. The ski itself is a pice of art in the looks department, and you see the quality of craftsmanship. I had the opportunity to test it at MC's lake in Orlando with Boris Laval (great guy) and have him pull me for a set. He took the time to explain all about the ski and set it up for me, with my front binding (OB4) and got me a RTP with a universal plate (I was using an HO direct connect). The ski is incredibly fast and stable and easy to turn, it is very different from any other skis I had tried, but my opinion is jaded. on the second day I changed my rear binding to an R-style (the RTP with a universal plate has a height difference of about 1cm with the OB4 and I compensated with the HO). I've had about eight sets on a new ski with a new rear binding so the change was quite drastic, but immediately my form got better and was earlier at the buoys. The last two sets finally I started really getting comfortable on it and I love it. My previous ski was a V-Type and i have skied on a Connelly Prophecy, Raptor, Helix H2, Goode Flextail and Goode Nano One XT, out of these the most similar ride was the Nano One XT but forme the MC was and is my weapon of choice.
  5. So @Horton what happened to you excitement? Did you get a Chance to try it out? The ski is working great for Manon & Freddie. I just bought mine and let me tell you It is a beautiful ski, you can appreciate the quality at first glance. I have only six sets on it and I changed to an R-Type back binding so it's a completely different feel form what I was previously skiing on. I'm trying to get the feel of the binding set up before I can comment on the ride or the difference with my previous ski. Any one out there on a Monte Carlo care to comment?
  6. Here is the link to yesterdays results
  7. Thanks #Savaiusini this is a great answer and exacrly the feedback I was trying to get. With this info is easier for those of us outside the US and no demo program to biy a ski I soin will be the owner of a white 67 V- Type R
  8. Skiing ability or level aside and where to put my $$$ (thanks #gginco for the advice), Is there anyone out there who could enlighten us on the differences between this two awesome skis? #savaiusini ???
  9. #gginco I agree that you should compare these skis to all skis if you are looking to change your ride. In my case I love HO Syndicate skis. The V-type had a lot of hype when it came out as the best ski that HO had designed. But discussions in previous threads were mostly about tweaking the set up, some people that tried it commented that it was difficult to turn or find the sweet spot etc. and I guess HO listened and came out with a modified V-type or a new ski, however you want to see it. The V Type is a beautiful ski and I like it it accelerates incredible after the turn but for me is sometimes unpredictable. I'm a novice that started skiing 14 months ago so I'm no expert, but I have skied other skis (Raptor, Goode Nano 1XT, D3 Helix, Goode Flextail and Connelly Prophecy), and I'm looking to find out the differences between these two skis from the same brand to see if I buy the new VTR or go somewhere else. So what would be great is if you, or any one, having tried both skis could share the differences in the ride and behaviour of the ski.
  10. Hey there Ballers, The V-Type R came out in september but aside from pictures in the V type R thread, there really hasn't been much about how the R rides or feels Vs, the V Type. Does it suit a different type of skier, is it more predictable in the turns? I own the V-Type and I'm considering buying the V- Type R is it worth the change? What do I get from one to the other? Thanks for any feedback you can give !
  11. @Than_Bogan, please do send the pics, the boots in their page still are the Roller Derby (old hardshells), Thanks
  12. A couple of weeks ago, had the same issue with the rubber coming off the plate glued it overnight and the next day I was ready to ski. On that day I was quite distracted and had 3 OTF falls, on the first one my boot came half off because it wasn't tight enough but it still released with a light pull in my ankle. On the next two falls with the boot properly tightened no problem at all with the release. This is why I bought the OB4. On the costumer service I have exchanged e-mails with Mike Mosley and he has always responded to all my questions and offered to help and clarify any doubts, he even took the time to talk over the phone when I inquired about his product. Yes, the product is not perfect yet and it is the most expensive binding in the market, some might feel that this is a deal breaker for them but if you want a release system that works and eventually putting some glue on it is not an issue then the OB4 system is a great choice.
  13. @Horton I did my first session on my V-Type with OB4 front binding & RTP. All my fears vanished of the ski being to advanced for my level (6 month novice) It glided like butter on a pancake and the stability was amazing compared to the nervousness of my free ride. I also felt in control this i think in great part to the OB4 binding. I still have along way to go in improving my technique, i got a lot of spray in my face which I blame mostly for being to flat crossing the wakes and a loose line for lack of angle, but the handling and control that I felt was an amazing confidence booster.
  14. Good Luck Horton with your surgery and tons of patience in your rehab.
