  1. I hear they are great, as good as Masterline and half the price. I wish them the best and will order 1 just to check it out. Good luck Slines, Oh is there a ballers discount yet?
  2. From a novice skier, 15 off, a few 22s at 32, I see her on side turn and the nose of the ski seems to hoop up then settles back down at a great position/angle. I recently went to a local clinic and they told me they could read the brand's name on the bottom of the ski because it was so far out of the water. She rotates your entire body with arms fully extended. Amazing to watch.
  3. Miami Nautique is offering 20% off on their Red, White and Blue gloves. Any updated comments on them. Assume $40 with free shipping is reasonable even for 1 season. I switched to HO Legends this summer and have had less blisters, but they are showing a lot of wear. I also went from HO medium to Large. TIA
  4. There was some discussion on this during the Malibu Open with the younger divisions. Some prefer 32 mph over longer rope at 34, supposedly -22/32 is easier than -15/34? I know that -22 bump makes you work, but 34 makes things happen so quick? I run -15/34 about once a year, but can get -22/32 a few times. I'd do what's easier for YOU, the physics are negotiable; constant speed vs. bump.
  5. No matter what you get them, stay away from Taylor made slalom buoys. I had 16 green slalom buoys valves fail. They got soft and leak air. I have some other Taylors (yellow, orange & even GREEN), Polyform, Overton's, Bart's, Skier to Skier and none of them failed. All in the same storage area.
  6. Stay away from Taylor slalom buoys. I've had about 16 green slalom buoys valves fail. They turned soft and leak air. I've used Overton's, barts, skier to skier, polyform and never had any issues. I have some Taylor slalom buoys that are o.k., same box, same storage area, just different colors. I assume it was a bad batch from China. I contacted Taylor customer support and a lady sent me replacement valves for inflatable long thin buoys (not slalom buoys).
  7. At Lake Martin, Bob Schouten use to do some coaching. He's been big in Alabama skiing for years. His dad unofficially coached me, but he's like 91 and probably not available. Then there's Peyton, UofA grad works at Russell Marine and can do some coaching. He helped with the ski clinics for years. Don Kelley was helping, but is traveling a lot now. Auburn's old coach east of Montgomery use to coach, but can't remember his name. Someone on here should be able to provide info. or google. GLWS
  8. Where at in southern Alabama? Hats off for keeping up that many courses!
  9. So RTP or boot, center, toes right or left of center. Any standard? I know we all sure try it and see what works for us. But I'd think science, physics, engineers would have a true recommendation. Standing by?
  10. I went to the KD site and they are not currently listed. I posted a message on the website.
  11. Thanks for the info., but I was hoping there was enough experience out there that could basic say a rope will stretch approx. ?? (6 or 12) inches give or take. The chart is interesting to see that the actual 22 off is more like 22 6 inches off.
  12. I'll try to find the KD buoys, but if someone has a link, please post. I've kept a course up on a public (Lake Martin, AL) for over 20 years and no matter what you get, they all fade, get slicky, small holes in the tops or just leak. I bet the same factory in China makes them all. I'd also bet they cost less than $1 to make, but you've probably have to get 10K of them. I appreciate the guys who have invested in stocking and supplying them. BTW a bucket cut around the top makes a good measuring ring for smaller turn buoys and larger boat guides. I prefer Orange over Red, red can be hard to see depending on light, angle, etc.
  13. Radar rope broke at the last adjustable line prior to the last rope to the handle. It looks like orange or faded red, 18 inches from 39 1/2 to 41 (I think). I went ahead and laid it out on the garage floor and measured it. It came up 2 1/2 feet short. So I'm a better skier than I thought (ha). So I took an old section from another rope and put it on the end and got 60 feet (3 inches), but the 3 inches goes around the pylon and is probably 60 feet, right? see photo. So I go get another rope, I have 3-4 extra over the years. This one is mixed colors and white throughout, no brand name. I lay it out to measure, it's not fully stretched, and seems short. the 22 0ff, 28 off 32 off and 35 off only added up to 19 feet and should be 20 right (7+6+4+3) see photo. Will these 4 sections actually stretch a foot? The overall rope from 15 off to the end, no handle was around 2 1/2 feet short. Would it actually stretch that far?
  14. Don't know if it's too late, but my wife had to get a new pair about a month ago. She actually like the fit of the MEN's World cup 2018 blue ones in an XS. Good luck.
  15. Instead of a hook, I used the archer with the 2 long tips, go slow and easy and it should caught the line. We went straight across somewhere in the middle and you should hook it. Having lines ready with buoys will make it go faster. I used the little black hooks from skier to skier, but have switched to fishing stringer SS snaps on both ends. One for the eye let and one for the buoy. Once you get it started, we just hand walked it from one end to the other. Ours is in 15-20 ft of water. It's been sunk twice and had to have all new buoys put on it about 5 years ago. In recent years, there's a lot of growth/build up on the PVC poles, so I've thought about having a spare and replacing one at a time by cleaning the outside and inside with a high pressure hose. Good luck.
