  1. Snow or water ski equipment is treated differently than regular luggage, as someone has already noted earlier in this thread. Pre-covid, I've flown with my snow skis many times to Utah and Colorado (last time in March 2020, right before everything got shut down) and once (in Dec 2019) with my water ski to Orlando. No issues, no fees, no hassle. Mostly with Delta and Jet Blue, but also with United and Southwest.
  2. @Clydesdale yes, that's what I was thinking, similarly to the ergonomic keyboards that help prevent getting carpal tunnel syndrome in your wrists. Hanging onto the handle might be different than dealing with wrists, though, because, when you have the handle nice and tight, close to your hips with straight arms, I don't see much of a change in joint angles with a 12" vs 13". But I may be wrong, hence I wanted to ask here.
  3. I am a size 11 street shoe and originally was recommended a size 11 Carbitex. This was in 2019. I could barely force my foot in there. I returned it and exchanged it for a size 12 which fits just right. I have not heat molded the liner.

If the fit is snug without insoles, you might be ok after heat molding the liner. The insoles should be to make up for any slack, but since you don't have any, you should be ok without them.
