  1. @scuppers - suggesting an iPhone to @Keith_Menard is like suggesting to him to love snakes...
  2. I can't get the code for 1 pair of gloves and 1 rope at 50% off to work for me. I'd like to order 1 pair of Masters Curves 2023 gloves and 1 Optimized 2.0 Slide Loop Mainline. Has anyone been successful?
  3. I love my t-factor. I have it for my front foot only and I have a toe plate for the back foot. The only issue I had is with the little cincher. I grabbed it by mistake to tighten things instead of grabbing the bungee itself and the whole cincher ended in the lake. Zip ties can prevent that.
  4. @jim_s the TRA ski finally has boots and today one of our kids got to ride it. This picture is part of a post on the Webster Water Ski Collective Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WebsterWaterSki/posts/4442718392432968
  5. Oh, @Keith_Menard was there as observer/judge. Thanks, Keith!
  6. Thanks for all your comments. Yes, it’s an addiction and all I can say is, give me more! :)
  7. Today for the first time I made a full 6 buoy pass through the course! Nothing fancy, just 15 off at 25.5 mph, but still a full pass. No video unfortunately. I’m stoked!!!
  8. Apparently, GoPro will announce their new Hero10 tomorrow, Sept 16. From all the leaks, it seems very promising! https://gopro.com/en/us/info/hero10-black-teaser
  9. @6balls are you saying that you can always find one of your courses oriented in a direction that makes it shielded from the wind? If so, that's not what Horton is asking.
  10. It took me a while, but I finally mounted my handle guard using a 3 mm paracord. I will try it out tomorrow. I’m not sure about the cord around the middle of the handle. I may change it.
  11. I wish you all the best and have fun skiing!
  12. Yes, it’s in Massachusetts, also called Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg
  13. @MitchellM - yes, he was piloting from the boat and it was the first time he tried doing that. He's an excellent snow skier, but not a water skier
  14. Hmm, apparently I got my first WTF. I don't think it stands for "Wow, That's Fantastic" so I'll just chalk it up to fat fingers on the touch screen of some smart phone. I don't know how else to explain it otherwise.
  15. Thank you, @jim_s - I am the person from the Webster Waterski Collective that reached out to see if the ski was available. As our President has already said to you, "We have a good amount of young slalom skiers that will love the ski!" So, on behalf of the entire Ski Club, thank you!
  16. A friend of mine has a nice drone and he came to the lake with me this past Sunday. No course, just free skiing, but this is the first time I can see myself from the air and it's pretty amazing to see what drones can do these days.
  17. I understand that there is no binding system that is 100% safe. However, I would like to bring up a comparison to the snow ski world where decades to tweaking have produced relatively safe binding systems that achieve 2 things: 1) they protect the ankles with boots that come up to mid leg 2) they release if a sufficiently high force is applied in any direction, a force that is tuned to the skier level and application (a beginner skier requires a much lower force than a downhill racer in a competition). In comparison, in the water ski world, there is still quite a bit of experimentation, possibly due to the smaller water ski market vs the snow ski market, or possibly due to the differences of 2 feet on 2 sticks vs 1 stick with feet one in front of the other. The types of falls may also be different, with most water ski falls (no data here, just my guess) happening in the line of travel (OTF falls) vs all kinds of falls in the snow ski world. Reflex, MOB and others offer very interesting systems, but the parallel to the snow ski world could bring some other interesting breakthroughs. Just my humble opinion.
  18. I stumbled across a video of Joel Howley in which, starting at minute 2:02, there is a funky yellow plastic boot that he is using. It looks like a snow ski boot cut at the base and bolted to a plate. I had never seen anything like that. I think he uses a MOB release system, but I'm not sure. What is it?
  19. @OldboyII what if the heel strap had something like a piece of webbing, maybe, that tied the strap to the footbed behind the heel? In case of a fall, the webbing should act like your fingers, right? I also like the Maherajah heel cup that @ALPJr posted.
  20. My legs, from above my knees to my ankles, due a very bad case of poison ivy. Does it count?
  21. @DW I have tried both soap and Babes Boot Butter. BBB is very easy to wash off your hands and also off your foot once you put your boot on. Soap takes much longer time to wash off.
  22. oops, thanks, @Keith_Menard - the link I wanted is what @Andre posted. Duh...
