  1. Head winds are a bit high today, but ZO is working perfectly, no worries!
  2. @adamhcaldwell what is the thickness of the CG fins? Do they fit in the fin box of Radar skis? Doesn't Radar require a 0.080" thickness? Thanks.
  3. Radar has a page for fin settings that shows how to use a caliper for the different measurements. Other manufacturer may recommend other methods, especially for DFT.
  4. This one is from this summer, Aug 2 around 6am
  5. I think you will find as many different opinions as there are skiers. Something that works well for one skier doesn't work well for another one. Different styles, different speeds, different rope lengths. Maybe if you provide more details about your skiing, people here will be able to provide you with some options to consider.
  6. Water temp 53F, air temp 72F, in Massachusetts. Heater shirt and short sleeves wetsuit was enough. I'll take it!
  7. I skied there in Oct 2018. I only brought my boots mounted on a sequence plate and Michael had me ski on a 2017 65" Vapor, the only ski he had comparable to my 2016 67" Vapor. The ski was way too short for me, but I had a great time and he was an excellent coach. His boat too was great. I highly recommend visiting there when in the area.
  8. 54F water in Massachusetts today, 62F air temp. Still nice and skiable...
  9. I got to try a D3 EVO 67" and liked it a lot. I have owned Radar skis and been very happy.
  10. Also, Joel Howley's advice in really nails it for me.
  11. Wake crossings are (one of) my weak spots, as an OTF with resulting forehead stitches a couple of months ago reminds me of. Since then I have started to trust my lean against the boat and I am creating more angle cutting across the wakes. It's definitely mental.
  12. Back in June I bought a Stokes Evo 2 vest directly from Stokes. @Thomasasher was super helpful recommending the best size for me. Three months later I'd like to say that I love my vest. It fits perfectly and it feels great. Thanks @Thomasasher!
  13. I visited their store in person last December and I felt like a kid in a candy store. Super helpful and knowledgeable people. I bought a Ronix rope for my son and this summer he loved it. Fortunately for my wallet that was the only "damage" it suffered. Online i ordered my Radar Vapor Carbitex boots and their staff was super helpful (the BOS discount made the experience even better). I hope to be back there soon!
  14. following up on @Clydesdale's Radar binding thing, do the plate holes for Radar Vapor Carbitex align well with the inserts on D3 skis?
  15. Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg (aka Webster Lake)
  16. @Fast351 - the Carbitex boots come with a metal base platform. The boots themselves are for a left or right foot, whereas the platforms are for a front or rear foot placeement.
  17. I know the 2020 line of Senate's was with an all new shape, carried over from the Vapor. What changes do you see with the 2021 models?
  18. @Horton you are the admin of a great site. I come here, when I can, to read all about this sport that got me hooked late in life, after several other passions that led me to many competitive challenges, always pushing me to better myself. Thank you and keep up the good work!
  19. For me, I can see a conversation like this: "Honey (my wife), all the friends I ski with and all the people on this very interesting website (that is, BOS), are talking about how amazingly better the new skis are compared to older ones. I think my 2012 ski has served me well and I can really up my game with a new stick. You might see a long box showing up at the door in a few days." Hmm, ok, maybe the last sentence would get me in trouble...
  20. I have a Camaro Blacktec and I love it. Not only keeps me warm, but after I ski I can keep it on in the boat as I spot my boat mates. It keeps the wind out and I'm toasty and happy. PS I'm the type of guy who doesn't mind water in the 40's, but if the air is cold, I whimper and shrivel... Ask @"Keith Menard"
  21. A few questions. Is the NRG (NRG R1) wider than the ION (ION-S), and is the EVO wider than the NRG? Am I right in thinking that the D3 line of skis goes from ION at the top end to NRG to EVO at the bottom end, similarly to Radar skis where Vapor, rated up to 36 mph, is at the top end and then the Senate, rated up to 34 mph, comes next? When I look at the D3 size chart, I'm confused as all their skis seem to be rated up to 36 mph. What do Freddie Winter and Nate Smith use?
  22. @ISP6ball - I was referring to resurrecting this thread almost a year and half later.
