What year about did the course go from 75' to the now 23 m?
-
Wouldn't that make it more responsive but also more touchy. Also not as minor of adjustment while steering.

Turn the camera around for some cool shots of you on your ski. Point it at about your belly button.
-
I thought you could only do that on a wakeboard.

I don't think I was pulling longer by holding the handle to the buoy line I just think I wasn't getting on top of my ski as quick. My normal way of skiing is early release, edge change, and front foot heavy to the buoy. That is what slows me down for the cut back. Skiing like that I found out hasn't worked for 35 but for 32 I would have tons of time and it would feel like a walk in the park. For 35 it felt like I actually had to tone it back a bit just like (you) @RazorRoss3 said in your earlier post. The best quote I got was not to drop the hammer after the buoy.

Skied this morning at 32 off and tried holding the handle longer out to the buoy line but it didn't work out to good. Way to much speed coming out to the buoy I'll have to work on that some, guess I'm set in my old ways.
But then slowed the boat to 33 mph and tried 35 off again and my first pass I didn't get a drop of water in my face and ran it really clean. Right from the pre gate I eased into the turn more and rather than flopping over around the buoy I had more of an arcing carve. Felt like I was more neutral as far as weight front foot to back foot through the arc.
Thanks for the great tips... now to get a good feel for 35 and eventually get the speed back up to 34.

I will try holding the handle longer. I have heard that numerous times before. Also have thought about half loops but slowing down 1 mph helps a ton.
I am near Fergus Falls area and have a course on u public lake but ski early mornings so mostly get great conditions depending on wind.

So you're saying it sound like I am doing the turn and burn (which it actually feels a little like that skiing) but be a little more patient in the arc of the turn and load the line in a building to the wake manner.
-
I can run 32's like a walk in the park and now trying 35's. I can squeak out a pass at 34 mph but if I slow down to 33 mph everything comes together. The problem I am having at both speeds is that right after the buoy I get a big spray shot in my face and am skiing almost blind back to the wake. Also 35 vs 32, 35 feels like I come out to the buoy line pretty flat to the buoy but 32 I can get a quick edge change and get on the inside of the ski and the momentum takes me around the buoy. I may have to get some video

I was just thinking how little traffic there is on Wakeworld. 10 years ago it was busy like BOS but now it has very little use. I love BOS, very good reading material for learning many things.

I do have a 100' jump rope I got for cheap. I will have to try that. We knew a little about starting out with the slow start then pull at like 25 until I was sitting outside the wake then he hit it and I unwrapped my feet from the rope and put them down. I only went for about 30 seconds twice until my feet where killing me. I have to do it more and it is super fun/addicting. Love the tips. Hope to give it another try, only thing is if the course is calm it takes priority and then I don't have much energy left to barefoot.
Epnault - we also have the LT1 but no powerslot, what was your top speed of your boat?
-
I don't bare foot a lot but just did my first deep water start this last weekend. Was wondering what speed you guys use. I know the (your weight/10)+20=mph equation but have heard some going a little faster. Also what length is best, full 75' or is shorter a bit better? Ski behind a '96 prostar 190 and I think it tops out WOT at bout 43.

I ski on a public lake and am out more to have fun. I make six passes all the same length spinning at each end. The only thing that stops me from going more is my forearms. Don't have much left to hold on to the rope after that.

You should have had someone call it when you were down there looking for it.

This thread is like a horror movie

Super easy to replace cutlass bushings with the strut on a work bench vs still under boat
-
+1 for removing strut. Then just reseal with marine silicone
-
If you change the filters put the gas from them in a clear container and look for water in the fuel
-
I don't like to go above idle in anything less that 4'

Anyone got any pics of the repairs ?

Some of that makes sense.
In that video of Matt Brown it looks like he has a fairly early release on buoys 1-4 then on 5 and 6 he holds the handle to the buoy line. Quite a few videos I see people are holding the handle to the buoy line then releasing. I'm not saying I release the handle at the wake but I do not hold it to the buoy line. Maybe I will have to try holding a little longer.
-
Can you explain to me why 2 hands as long as possible is the way to ski. Logically to me one hand off as soon as possible makes more sense.
-
When I ski I always load the line from buoy to the wake then over the wake is more of a leaning coast then start my standing up and handle release after the second wake. I let the handle out quick and get the ski flat soon after. It feels like I get my upper body forward and weight over the front of the ski but in videos it doesn't appear that way. When I do these things skiing feels great and I can get into -35. Why do people say the early release handle is not desirable and to keep it in as long as possible with both hands on as long as possible?
Santa is coming early this year!
