  1. Thanks @BraceMaker I see numerous ones available in Michigan. The only hard part will be logistics...
  2. @Carl no I have not yet. What do you have?
  3. We are still looking for a used lift, didn't know if anyone has seen one for sale.
  4. @hiddenskier we would love a new one but, from what we have seen, they are out of our price range at the moment.
  5. We moved into a waterfront community last year and now we are looking for a lift. Due to our HOA we need to get a lift that is as unobtrusive as possible, hence the need for a hydraulic cantilever. These are very uncommon in NC though. Does anyone know of any used ones available? We don't mind a decent drive to pick one up if the price is right, but obviously there are limitations to that. We've seen some posts about others getting a great deal on used lifts and we are hoping to do so as well.
  6. I had two cubes in my drink last night...
  7. @bishop8950 I remember that as well. I kinda remember it being Sammy Duvall? They exchanged signed guitar/ski if I remember correctly.
  8. @v1car are you bone on bone? I was having a ton of pain and found out I tore my labrum and had an impingement and decided to have arthroscopic surgery. I was 32 at the time and my Dr. said that 10-15 years ago I likely would have had a total hip replacement. It's not a common surgery and you may not be a candidate based on what is wrong. Recovery is about 4-6 months but I cannot tell I had anything done except for 2 tiny scars now and I wish I would have had it done years before I did!
  9. @tlarocque thanks! Will keep that in mind. I can ship freight to my work so I guess it's worth at least asking.
  10. @spicoli, thanks I'll look into it! I'll send you a pm if I head down there to look at it. Thanks for the pull offer!
  11. @tlarocque is correct. We're looking for a basta, sunstream, summit, floe, etc type of hydraulic. Not looking for a float lift similar to a hydrohoist etc. I need to have it with a solar panel etc. Basically the only thing our hoa has said is to buy one that looks nice and hopefully is solar powered. Hence my reasoning for a hydraulic.
  12. We're trying to find a used hydraulic lift. We are in the Charlotte NC area and they don't really appear to be very popular around here because of the lake fluctuations. We should be good though because the lake we are on doesn't fluctuate as much. Don't really have options to get a different type of lift because of HOA/Power company rules, 99% power company! Willing to travel some to get one. Any help would be appreciated!
  13. @arigold22 sorry for the late reply but I do not have a contact but it looks like you made it out there due to @SkiItUp enjoy! Also, the jump course is in the water in Sanford, but we just didn't see a jump anywhere. That lake is really well protected and you can barely see any of it, so it is quite possible it is on the shore somewhere.
  14. @arigold22 went by the lake in Sanford today. We did not see a jump setup. Not even on the shore. Based on who has a house there I am surprised that there isn't one setup. We go by there frequently, if we ever see anyone skiing there we will stop and ask.
  15. @DefectiveDave, did the same thing to our 95 nautique about 15 years ago. Minor scratches to the gel coat right at the spray relief pocket. Never have done anything to it and have never had any issues. Ours was on the bottom side of the hull though. I can look at it sometime and compare with ours if you would like.
  16. @arigold22 I was wrong on Panther lake doing the night jump. That is Beaver lake which is near Eure NC. That would be a several hour drive probably. Lillington isn't too far away as mentioned. Maybe ski and trick at Panther and jump at Coble...
  17. There is a slalom course on Jordan that I believe a small club uses in that area uses. We know the owner of the course, so I'll see what the particulars are with it. There is a lake in Sanford that has a jump, I'm just not sure if it is setup or not now. We will be driving by it next weekend so I'll find out. I also don't know the specifics of actually using the lake now. I know there is a house built on it recently, not naming the owners, so I don't know if the club still operates there or not. Your other option is Panther lake near Fuquay-Varina. I think they have a tourney coming up and they do a night jump there I believe. Depending on where you are going to move to will determine the closest lake.
  18. thanks @oldjeep! called around and it's as simple as furnishing the hull number to the dealer and the factory makes one.
  19. My sister has a Nautique 200 that did not come with a seat extension. Does anyone know where to purchase one from?
  20. really awesome to see espn covering that. Marty Smith, SVP, and the last Stuart Scott are my favorite espn personalities.
  21. @lpskier yeah, you are only going to get about 1100 ft from a pool. I don't think they would ever let you borrow them either...
  22. @lpskier you are correct, lane lines are very expensive. Back when I used to swim, we had to put the lane lines in ourselves by swimming them down the pool. You also had to get them very tight, but I think that was more so the lanes themselves stayed the same width down the length of the pool. Potentially an olympic length pool, 50meters, would let you borrow their lines, but I highly doubt that.
  23. Eric, I'm 33 and had a hip arthroscopy in 2014. It is actually a longer recovery and I was cleared to ski in 4 months. You'll be fine. Also, my Dr., one of the best in hip arthroscopy, mentioned if I was interested in a partial that a Birmingham hip would be ideal. You'll be fine and skiing before you know it. Enjoy the night in the hospital, it was easier than going home that day and I'm glad my Dr. required me to stay one night!
  24. @Waternut we ski with someone who is allergic to lots of manmade fibers. He got tested by the dermatologist and found out all the things he is allergic to. He has to where 100% cotton gloves under his ski gloves as well as a t-shirt under his life jacket.
  25. I've always been an advocate of not letting the pump or injectors fire. My opinion is that it gives the oil pump that small amount of time more to prime before ignition.
