  1. Just ordered a few goodies from Performance. Bill is hard at work shipping out online and phone orders and now is a great time for us ballers to support the fine folks at Perfski as they work through this tough time. Bill and his team have done so much for this industry over the years and I can't wait to get back into the store! Thanks Bill!
  2. Sorry to hear that as I'm registered for the LaPoint Ski Park Spring Tournament and it was going to be my first tournament in 40 years! Do you know if it will be rescheduled or cancelled?
  3. It's a mixed bag for me as I travel for work but with all televised sporting events being cancelled I will have much more time at home. However, the bad news is that I live/ski on a public lake and every kid that is home from school is out on the lake. I tried to get in a set before dark last night and there were 5 jet skis, 2 Bass boats and I Wake/surf boat near my course.
  4. Got a new pair of Bombers and had to wait until 4 weeks post-surgery due to travel and weather. I still could not get comfortable with the glasses and took them off. Ran a few ugly passes without and the eyes seemed ok. I even got a fall out of the way with no issues so now that is out of my head. Now I just need the wind to quit so I can out there again! @Horton thanks for the Bomber reference, they make a really good product. I'm a Safety professional but I was not aware of the Bomber line of Safety glasses until you mentioned them.
  5. Got to throw in another plug for the mid-90's MC 205. I've had my '93 for 23 years and absolutely love it. Easy to drive, great slalom wakes, plenty of family room. Keep looking, they are out there. BTW: @CPC_1 That is a gorgeous CVX-16 you have there! I spent many a summer evening skiing behind one of those in the late 70s and early 80s.
  6. Thanks @Sivota, I should be able to get a pair soon.
  7. Thanks @Sivota! These look intriguing but there doesn't seem to be any way to open an account and/or place an order. Maybe they don't sell in the US?
  8. Thanks @Horton, I’ll order another pair and try again.
  9. So, my experiment did not go so well and I'm hoping other folks are having better luck. I skied today 2.5 weeks post-surgery with a pair of Bomber H-Bomb Safety glasses. I attached a cord and cinched them up tight thinking that would help, however, I did not use any anti-fog. They started to fog up as I approached the course and between the fog, the water spots and the glare I couldn't see much of anything. I rode through the course and took them off at the far end where I went to toss them in the boat. Of course, I missed the boat and they sank out of sight....must have been the cord?. I ran a couple of easy passes without the glasses but my eyes started to water pretty severely so I think I'll wait another week and try again.
  10. @Marco thanks for bringing up this topic! I had eye surgery 10 days ago and am itching to get back in the water ASAP. Will order goggles this week. I had surgery to correct my peripheral vision and hope to pick up a ball or two!
  11. Yep, it’s been a while since I ended up at the exit gates with my ski sitting out by 6 ball and a couple of vapor boots in between....I definitely need to stop doing that. Thanks again!
  12. Finally retired my 20 year old vest and bought a new one at Performance last month. Took a yard sale OTF a few days ago and the foam inside the upper back of the vest got all twisted up in a bundle. I tried to straighten it out and finally took it back to Performance. They said "no problem" and had me pick a new vest off the rack....no hassles, no worries....just solid customer support. This has been my experience with Bill and the other good folks at Performance since the day they opened and this is why I'll continue to buy all of my gear there.
  13. Just seeing this thread and throwing my 2 cents in for the 1993 MC 205. I bought mine 22 years ago with about 100 hours on it and pushing 1,300 hours now. Great family boat with a very good slalom and barefoot wake. Has a slight bump at 22 off but not bad. I'm skiing it into 32 off now and the wake just keeps getting better as I shorten the rope. It's also a great family boat although it can get a bit crowded with 6 people or more. One word of caution is to not chop the throttle with heavier people up in the bow as you can dip the bow under water if you come off the power too quick or in rough water with a bow full of people. Only significant maintenance issue has been cracked original GT40 heads over the last couple of years and the occasional replacement carb but that is to be expected with high hours on these older motors.
  14. The good folks at Performance set me up with new Carbitex Vapor boots on a sequence plate yesterday (Thanks Bill!). I had my first set on the new boots this morning and skied right up to my practice average and a few balls shy of my practice PB after not skiing for 5 days.
  15. Thanks all! Performance has these in stock.
  16. Thanks for the feedback @Zman ! Using older Vapor boots and thinking about upgrading to Carbitex with the sequence plate.
  17. Anyone running Radar Vapor boots on the G10 Sequence Plate? I recently saw Horton's unboxing video (thanks @Horton) but have not seen anything else about it.
  18. Great, thanks for asking! I don't post often but I'm really stoked as I set two different practice PBs this week! I'm a mid-60s, 32 mph skier who has struggled at 15/22 off with multiple injuries over the past two years. Earlier this summer Mat Rini suggested that I upgrade my ski and set some goals. I'm now on the Senate Pro and started skiing more often with @ScottScott who has been great! I can't say I'm skiing more but skiing with more focus and also trying to ski a set with Matt every week or so. Over the last week I have started to get consistent at -28 and then set a new practice PB of 3 @ -32, followed a few days later by turning 5 ball at -32 (lost the handle on the way to 6 ball). -32 is going down soon and I can honestly say that in 40+ years of skiing this is my best season so far!!!
  19. @Tdub Did you get another GPS puck yet? I upgraded to StarGazer Ver. 9 earlier this summer and recently it started cutting out during passes. PP was great to work with and they told me that they were having issues with some GPS pucks that were recently shipped out. They sent me a replacement and everything seems to be good now.
  20. @lpskier ESPN could use a camera operator with your skills!
  21. Any courses located up in northern Door County? My wife opened an Art Studio up in Fish Creek and I’m looking for places to ski when I’m up that way.
  22. I’m an older skier and have had many injuries over the years....most from trying to ski beyond my personal limits. In my day job I’m Safety Director for ESPN which includes the X Games (we’re halfway through X Games Minneapolis now) and I believe that everything we do here has a higher level of risk than slalom skiing. BTW: First ever X Games gold medal was awarded for barefoot jumping!
  23. @Stevie Boy, I'm also an older 32 mph skier and just made the switch to a Senate Pro after riding HO skis for years. First ride on the Senate Pro was awful and it took me about 4 full sets to adapt to the ski but now I love it. Set a new practice PB during my 7th set (5th in the course). It's a great ski and I'm glad that I stuck with it. BTW: I'm riding mine with a WhisperFin.
  24. Agree with @Jody_Seal, Robert is a nice, polite young man with some serious slalom skills. I had the opportunity to ride in the boat while he ran into -41 recently and it was unbelievable how strong he is behind the boat!
