  1. @BoneHead is right on. A simple magnetic heater on the oil pan will heat it and that will rise through the engine and under the engine box.
  2. Windchill will only effect the time it takes an inanimate object to cool to the actual air temperature. It will not cool it to anything below the actual air temperature.
  3. Wind chill has no effect on solids. Only actual temperature.
  4. Good content- but @Horton - FYI your audio is bad. Sound like you’re in a tin can
  5. As essentially beginners I would go used on Ski it again . Some GREAT skis there for little money that will give you great experience and not break the bank . All those mentioned are great brands . I’m an HO guy but have been flirting with Radar and D3 as well. Get started as you’ll go through multiple skis the more you ski. Owning different skis is half the fun
  6. @Orlando76 is right. Look hard but not aware of any . Let us know if any discoveries!
  7. ooops - fast finger - that is GTR.
  8. VTR sales are going up as we speak...........
  9. @slow - have to agree - love the old checkmate vest. Pickup up a like new one last summer for $22 - shipped!
  10. no easy answer. I have Eagle and Oneil. Both are great.
  11. agree with @oldjeep - ski was likely insured by sender. You should have a claim. Happened to me on one occasion as well
  12. It would be wonderful to see a thread stay on point. This discussion has digressed so far off topic its ridiculous.
  13. Point of the thread as started by @lhoover is cost/benefit
  14. is there a missing group of votes as the numbers ad up to only 97% . Expecting the splits to be of 100% of the votes

    Hull Blisters

And yes- time to buy a lift. My boat is only in the water now if it’s moving!

    Hull Blisters

It’s called osmosis. Not uncommon on salt water vessels as they’re in for extended periods, but uncommon for ski boats. I experienced the same thing on my 92 Hydrodyne Comp when first got it in 06. Was in the water for about 4 mos. I took it out- put in a lift- dried the hull completely . Large amount disappeared but quite a bit remained. Light sanded with 600 then 1000 then buff with compound or Meguires cut polish. Plenty of good gelcoat - will come out like new. The blisters are very superficial but scared me big time when developed.
  17. HO's always been great to me. A while back looking for new heel rubber for an old pair of Ninety-Eights on a CDX1 I called them and they sent me new heel rubber with pull handles - far better than the original with finger holes, no charge. Their only request was that I make a $5 charitable donation. I donated $20 to St Judes in HO's name. Also my daughters A2 needed a new Syndicate lion head and they sent replacement(s) immediately. Great folks.
  18. @Orlando76. Will put you on the prayer list.
  19. Above advice is good - YES still spray into chambers and turn over a few times with plugs out to distribute. Put plugs back in and ready for Spring. Antifreeze too of course as you already noted you're doing - but your processes should have your engine in good shape for many many years.
  20. Went to double T factors this season. I'm a 9-9 1/2 and mediums are very snug, but not uncomfortable. Feel is very connected Lots of slime to get in. I was told when buying they'll feel very different and expect 5-6 sets to settle in. I don't tighten the bungees. I've found tfactors to give great support. They release very well as had some world class falls and both feet popped out, which I was glad to see. I cut the excess laces and tied knots in the excess cord as the plastic slides from D3 can come off easily. Personally I love the feel of these as they do a good job of holding my feel firmly in place, well connected, little if any movement. Forces yo to ski more with hips vs pushing with feet.
  21. Skiing and shooting are great fun and addictive but can leave you penniless! I'm only a pistol guy, but the costs for 3G competition are staggering . Ammunition costs for practice are huge, then high end ammo for competition. Would be great fun but I can't afford both. Will stick with skiing and pistols. 4 calibers is plenty
