  1. Any comments on wake, build quality, tracking? I'm just a free skier (I have a 2007 SN 206 at my lake house), looking at an inexpensive boat that I could use in salt water at my home in San Diego. Messaged Ron Tanis who sold the company in 2001 and he said there were very few changes in 2002 since the new owners (Elan) hadn't moved production yet. I know they had issues after that.
  2. I suggest you skip Disneyland.. but that's just me (and I get if its for the kids). I'm down in North/Coastal San Diego. Lots to see/do down here depending on what you're interested in. I'm happy to provide a few ideas if you send me a PM. Definitely make some time for Tahoe/Yosemite. I don't know how much water skiing will be going on at that time of year but I once rented a boat on Tahoe so we could ski and it was 38 degrees outside. My hands were blue.
  3. Where is this boat? If its my stepdad's in Waupaca, DON'T buy it or I won't have anything to ski behind when I go visit. And if it is his, don't tell him I said that.
  4. Love it. Where's the beer fridge?
  5. I bought a brand new 2018 Lyric with front boot and RTP for my daughter from Wiley's for $350. I'd give them a call and see what they have.
  6. Does MB own the property? Wonder where he is going? I couldn't live there, too remote for me, but I'd love to have access to it for skiing.
  7. I need about 5 other investors and I'm in... http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Real_Estate&postid=52092
  8. That I'm happy to have a boat that can do a little bit of everything...
  9. Was going to buy my 10 yo daughter a TRA but got a good deal on a 2018 Lyric 63 from Wiley's. She has been out on it a few times. She is skiing really well and loves the ski.
  10. 1200 miles each way. Then about 30 ft from cabin to dock.
  11. Congratulations! My first boat was a 2008 Outback and it was a great!
  12. I got the okay for my 50th. I have 5 years to save up. Wife will come along and be "waiting for me in the bar".
  13. That looks like a spectacular trip!
  14. Surfers=Tubers>wakeboarder>skiers. I'll be surprised if my dock is still standing in a couple more summers with the rollers that come ashore. I guess I'm a little spoiled living where I do because I feel like if you want to surf you should go to the beach and keep $200k in the bank. As far as wakeboarders.... I RARELY see someone who is any good. We have a couple on the lake and the rest just ride around and hop the wake a little like me. Fortunately I can still get in some good skiing in the mornings and evenings.
  15. That looks awesome! I'm just a free skier but will be up at my lake house in WA for about 4 weeks this summer. Would love to check out the slalom lake.
  16. Have a 2003 X7 (MC 197) that I'd consider selling. MCX motor with mid-400 hours, new ACME prop, just installed StarGazer, new trailer tires, new cover, serviced and ready.
  17. Can you elaborate on "project"? Or link to other post with more details? Beyond the obvious cosmetic... motor hours, maintenance history, gauges, prop, immediate needs?
  18. I have never been to the actual site but I drive by the area all the time traveling between San Diego and Phoenix. Its just off highway 85, maybe 45 minutes from Phoenix and 30 north of Gila Bend. Not much out there other than a jail and a landfill. I don't think Spring Mountain got much traction and I'd be surprised if that site had its operating costs sorted out. I'd look at some of their other, more established sites. Here is a link: http://waterskiarizona.com/index.php Susan, the agent, is pretty responsive and should be able to give you the scoop. I think she has a place at Lakeside which is just south of Spring Mountain.
  19. @swc5150 - good point about the diesel hauling! As much as we love our Touareg, firing up the V8 is one of my favorite parts of boating. Hopefully boats won't go the way of the car industry with 2 liter 4-cylinder turbos in literally EVERYTHING.
  20. "In 2009 MasterCraft offered a Diesel-Volkswagen Turbo Charged Direct Injection (TDS) V8–225hp engine in combination with a 1.5:1 transmission as a option." Was this sold in the US? Never heard of/seen one of these. Would compliment my Touareg TDI well:-)
  21. Boat was sexy as they come. I'm going to keep my eyes open for one like that. PeterAK - have a Spotted Cow for me (can't get them outside WI)! Love that place!
  22. That's at Clearwater Harbor which is on the Chain O' Lakes (Taylor Lake, specifically) near Waupaca, WI. I live in San Diego but my mom grew up in Stevens Point, WI and her family had a place there. She and my stepdad have a place of their own there now. I go back every couple years. I didn't get very good pics but looking at it from head-on at water level that boat has some really pretty lines. Didn't know there was a Mike Brendel but now a couple things make sense. Thanks for that info.
