  1. I agree, seems like too good of a good deal. But it was posted on a Malibu forum and the seller has been communicative. But, that's also the reason I'm hoping to find someone to go lay eyes on it and feel out the seller. Yes, it's a bit dirty. He said he left it at his cabin up north after he bought an Axis wake boat for his kids. Said he has replaced the carpets and the seats. Said trailer is just okay and tires need replacing. I think those pics are a few years old so he's supposed to get me a walkaround video this weekend. Mastercrafter - Let me get the videos from the seller this weekend and then, if it looks decent, I'll reach out to you. I very-much appreciate the offer to take a look. vtjc- I live in San Diego but our lake cabin is in WA state. We bought a wake boat with some friends last year and it would have cost me $300/mo to store the 206 for 10 months, so I just listed it before I came home last summer and someone showed up with cash. I've done that several times..l have boat ADD.
  2. I come from skiing behind Nautique 206s but sold my last one last summer. Not many good boats on the market this year but came across this boat in Michigan, outside of Detroit. I know the Response had some better years than others, not sure if the 2011 is a decent skier for someone like me who just does open water free skiing. Thoughts? I have been in contact with the seller and, even if it needs a little cleaning up, seems like a pretty good deal at $30k. 110 hrs on Indmar motor. Anybody near Clarkston, MI want to take a look for me???
  3. I realize this is a long shot but wondering if their are any ballers in the vicinity of Tracy, CA that would consider taking a look at a boat for me. I'm in SoCal and just don't have any time to get that far north. Looks like a clean boat with a GT40 but I want to make sure it actually exists and shows well to someone who has been around a boat. TIA!
  4. Other options in SW: http://waterskiarizona.com/listings.php
  5. Waupaca... that's awesome! I learned to ski on Rainbow where my mom's family (Stevens Point) had a cottage, my stepdad had a cottage on McCrossen for at least 60 years, and now my mom and him have a place on Round. LOVE going back there but, sadly, has been way too crowded for skiing in the past few years. Chain O' Lakes is a wonderful area though and I love my Spotted Cow.
  6. I guess we'll see. Time to start my search in earnest. Usually the hunt is a lot of fun but it has been slim pickings for the past couple years.
  7. Maybe, but he was out of town and reached back out to me on Tuesday. Whatever, out of my control. I'll find something else.
  8. Unfortunately the seller, despite the fact that I told him I'd be up to see the boat in the morning, decided that he wanted to sell it back to the previous owner who is supposed to come down this weekend. Very disingenuous, disappointing, kind of a dick move after having it on the market for 32 weeks and me being in touch with him over the past 2-3 weeks.
  9. I'm going to go check it out on Friday.
  10. I sold a nice 2008 SN 206/ZO boat last year so we could get a "family" boat... 2012 SAN 210. I am just a recreational free skier and I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive second boat that will be good for open water skiing. There is a boat fairly close to me that I am considering checking out. Under 500 hrs and looks clean in photos. Has a PCM motor and a sticker on it that says "Apex Multiport Fuel Injection". I'm not sure what the output or reputation of that motor is. Asking $15k. Any thoughts about this hull/engine combo? Thanks.
  11. We can go to the beach every day. But we don't get to ski every day. I'll see you Monday morning, Craig.
  12. @PeterAK - Waupaca? I was back there last week trying to ski on the Chain O' Lakes. Great weather, more people that I'm used to seeing during the week. FWIW - I had an X-7, similar to the 197, and got rid of it because I thought the wake was terrible compared to the Nautiques I have owned. Back in an open bow 206 now.
  13. Austin - going to look for that boat when I hit Alderbrooke for lunch this summer! Good luck with the restoration!
  14. I'm going to try to do an on-the-water test in the next couple days. Relatively speaking, the cost of entry isn't all that large. I just don't want to end up with a money pit. I don't mind investing a little time and money. @Brewski - that boat looks sweet! Not in love with the colors on the boat I'm looking at but would be tempted to do a wrap and reupholstery at some point. I like blues on boats. @TomH - great info. Hope you'll post some pics of that when its done... I bet it's going to be killer. Looks similar to the other '89 owned by the seller of the boat I'm checking out. @dvskier - definitely some time on Mission Bay but vast majority of hours on fresh water. I would plan to use in salt on occasion, that's what we have where I live. If I pursue, will have a marine survey. I'm not an outboard guy but seems the Suzuki oil-injected motors are pretty stout. Bet it rips even with the 200. Again, appreciate the input from the forum members. -TL
  15. Good question. I pulled on the pylon pretty good and it seemed solid. I will email Sanger about that.
  16. The SD boat is the one I'm pursuing, obviously. Not my favorite colors but hull in pretty good shape. Great write-up from WS mag, thanks for the link. I was thinking start at $6-6.5k. Going to see if we can get it out on the water for a test drive. Thanks for the input guys.
  17. Great feedback, thank you. Next question.. assuming passes a survey without uncovering any major issues with stringers, motor, etc... any ideas on value for one of these? Really hard for me to pin down.
  18. Just soliciting opinions.... I have a nice 2007 SN 206 that I keep up at my lake home in WA. I get about 4 weeks/summer up there each year. I live in San Diego the rest of the year but rarely get to ski down here. Have been exploring my options and its basically either a salt water lagoon, fresh water reservoir about 40 minutes away, or a trip to the Colorado River (which I haven't done but I hear is a lot of fun). We just enjoy being on the water and free skiing, nothing too serious. 1989 Barefoot Sanger came up for sale locally. Original owner and he has 2 of them. Appeared to be in good shape but would obviously have to have it looked over carefully given it has wood all over the place. The wood I could see looked dry but not rotted. Has original Suzuki oil-injected 2-stroke outboard with 1300 hours, recently serviced. Fired right up with I went to look at it yesterday. Thinking maybe something like this would be a cheap/fun option that would allow for use around here and in shallower river waters. I know this is a pretty hard core group of skiers but wondering if anyone has any thoughts about these boats for my intended purposes? I prefer direct drive boats but they are a recipe for disaster on the river. I have never owned an outboard.
  19. @Web - that is one pretty 206! I just bought a 2007 SN 206 (my 2nd 206)... great all around boat for the family.
  20. Put this in my cabin. Pic taken when it was a mess after arriving for a couple weeks.
  21. Not sure what exact year or model this Brendella was but I saw it a couple years ago on a trip to Wisconsin and it was in stunning condition. That's my daughter trying to figure out what I was making such a big deal about.
  22. Mixed comments but overall good feedback (on thread and PMs) for this boat. Hoping to go take a look whenever CV situation improves. Appreciate comments.
