  1. Well things didn't work out with the 97, but a 2000 fell into my lap. Officially an excited boat owner.
  2. I don't know why they would rebrand it. It seems to be gaining a great deal of momentum. (Unrelated, that little boat in the picture would be hilariously fun).

One here. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-powerboat-motorboat/red-deer/2007-other-gtr-22/1254428298?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true (No affiliation with the boat at all.)
  4. @ironhorse about an hour south of you in Sandpoint. Also, I don't think I have ever seen Moyie that calm.
  5. @UWSkier any experience behind a Prostar 195? I have heard the wake is pretty firm.
  6. Learned to drag, double boot now. I find it way easier.
  7. Thanks @Bulldog. I have skied an 02. But I wasn't sure on the hull difference. If it isn't significant, I think it might be okay for the type of skiing we are doing.
  8. And @jhughes, unfortunately being Canadian and our dollar sucking right now, and where I am, there aren't very many options this year...yet.
  9. Thanks for all of the info @UWSkier and @jhughes
  10. @UWSkier yes I will definitely be skiing it before a purchase. Here is the info the seller sent me about the prop (Replaced stainless steel prop with an Acme Nibral (nickel, bronze, aluminum) prop.). There is a course on our lake, but we are mostly open water skiers. We have been skiing behind a 2007 Moomba Outback, a 06 Mastercraft X1, and a 07 Supra 20SSV. I decided that I would buy a more true ski boat. Most of us are skiing at 34 and 15-22 off. Mostly recreational to be honest. I'm probably the most aggressive skier in the bunch, but have no idea how I'd do on the course.
  11. Honestly, we replaced a fuel pump in my buddies X1 with the comparable GM part and he hasn't had a single issue with it since (about 200 hours).
  12. Hey everyone, Hoping to trouble you for some insight on a Response LX I am looking at. The boat itself has high hours (1500) but looks immaculately maintained, and I do have a full list of services, replacements, etc. It does honestly seem like it has been well taken care of. It does not have speed control of a bimini, so I would need to add those. I have skied behind an 01 RLX, but not the 97. What is the wake like? Thanks everyone.
  13. Ha ha it is CDN, so around 18 USD I think. Not my boat.
  14. This isn't mine, but I don't think I have ever seen an Echelon like this. Pretty cool lookin boat. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-powerboat-motorboat/winnipeg/1998-malibu-echelon-direct-drive-low-hours/1268545401?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
  15. Ha ha yeah, it is further for you to get there than it is for me in Calgary. About a 6 hour drive for us.
  16. Will be in Sandpoint in the beginning of July, and then again at the beginning of August.
  17. Thanks @oldjeep. I'll check them out to see if I can copy a design for myself.
  18. @bigskieridaho I don't think I want to put a tower on at this point ha ha. Makes life easier for sure to keep everything out of the way. I wonder if you could put in an vertical extension support that would allow you to not even drill.
  19. Hello all, I am currently looking to purchase a 97 Response LX. I am on a bigger lake and we take day trips sometimes. Without trunk storage in the 97's, I am looking at some creative ways to get the skis off the floor. I know all the new boats have the gunwale racks. I have access to a 3D printer at work and am thinking about trying to print something off. I would probably put it on some form of a hinge so that it is not a shin killer. Does anyone have a DIY attempt at this? Thanks
