Last week on little corn Nicaragua. Found an old Jobe in a shed and got a penga pull. First pull of the year.
  2. MB BOSS 190 is a great boat if you can find one.
  3. @horton ever notice that the syndicate speed skin pattern is very similar to the mastercraft vinyl pattern?
  4. @bishop8950 thank you for all your info. How much alum is required for treating a man made waterski lake and where can I purchase?
  5. @bishop8950...... it is a man made lake. The water source is irrigation ditch with water rights, that flows into main lake and outflow empty’s into another backup lake. It is prolly ten feet deep at its deepest point. I have tried discussing how to make the lake a little more appealing to swimmers. The bottom feels like sludgy muck when walking. Some of other owners on lake are worried that treating the lake might change the way it skis. Thanks for any advice
  6. @Brady my Friend has a setup just like you described. Concrete U shape dug into shore on turn island with lift. The problem he deals with every year is his slip fills up with sand and dirt from boats going around island. We bought a dredger to suck out slip and relocate the material that finds its way into his slip. Still prefer his setup over pulling boat up onshore every time your not skiing, that sounds like a pain in the ###.
  7. @jkill_88 at our lake you would have no problem getting sets in. We love beginners in the course/ kids/tubers/paddle boarders/ mostly fun. I get a kick out of the early excitement and passion for beginning skiers. Sometimes I wish I could learn it all over again. Soooooo fun! There is a problem with your lake if you can’t ski your arms off. No matter your skill level.
  8. carp Do a great job keeping weeds and grass away at our lake. Our water is very murky though. It does not look inviting for a swimmer. Our lake is half frozen now, and hasn’t had activity in 4-5 months. It is still murky. Any advice on how to take the murk out? Over the off season, geese winter on the lake. I’m guessing 4-5000 goose turds end up in our lake every season. All that organic matter has to be adding to murk? I know it blocks the light for weeds, but we have too many carp and weeds are not problem. How can I manage the murk? I have read that decomposing straw has some affect. Any suggestions/advice?
  9. @zippin_2 I agree, the mb boss 190 is a fantastic boat. One of my favorite older boats to ski. There is a sweet lookin yellow one on ski it again.
  10. Hey @flanker978 liquid wrenches in California ships boats over there. Scott has shipped one of my Malibu’s over there. Might check it out.
  11. @LeonL that’s what I thought. Thanks
  12. I will buy any old skis also, if fairly priced. I need doubles preferably. I make ceiling fans out of them and need the same skis opposite each other so that it is balanced easily and looks good.
  13. Ok thanks@vtjc and@skiinxs I really appreciate
  14. Don’t know how to start a thread, can someone tell me correct zero off times. How fast is too fast. I don’t recall my times from last fall, but a few other skiers said it was fast and I’m not aware of any adjustment if times are fast.
  15. I have never been to a tournament and grew up without a boat or waterskiing. But seeing those old tournaments from cox and mapple on tv ,years ago, welded a love for this sport in me that is hard to explain. I think competition is the cornerstone of any sport and it’s hard to see any sport thriving and or surviving without competition at a high level.
  16. @skidawg insta gram handle.....Spencer_shultz79
  17. Waterski mag turned into wake board/wake surf mag anyways. The last few years every issue had one waterski article and the rest was not waterskiing. Article after article about wake boarding or surfing, no wonder it hasn’t done well. They used to get me excited. Recently, just annoyed by wasting all that paper on wake board and surf articles in a WATERSKI magazine. I would sign up for a ball of spray mag in a nano sec. Not a ball of wake mag.
  18. Hey @sunvalleylaw Not sure if in your budget, but thinking of selling my 2013 3500 ram Laramie long horn. It has a full camper package already installed, along with wireless air bags system and heavy duty sway bar. Your camper choice might make this decision, my truck is a short bed. I currently carry a 2013 arctic fox 811, and have a hitch extension to pull trailer. Truck has 60,000 on it I think. Oh yea, truck is the heavy duty 3500 with the max hp and aisin transmission. Completely stock, no mods on engine. Great truck, I’m thinking of downsizing.
  19. @WaterSkier12 thank you for responding. I agree with you.
  20. @WaterSkier12 nice of you to respond. I am guessing you are a doctor. After discussing with doctor friend, I understand that hyperbaric chambers have not been tested by the fda. If the fda doesn’t say it works most doctors won’t say it works or prescribe it because insurance won’t cover it unless fda says it works. According to data shown by a local hyperbaric chamber owner, it does work. I have spoken with 10 people who have used it since I last posted and a few of their doctors. The doctors I have spoken to cannot deny that their patients had a faster recovery than expected and 100% believe it was due to the chamber. One of them now prescribes it tor patients regardless of fda approval. My step father(ER doctor) tells me, chambers are not used more because if hospitals had them they would be too expensive for the majority of people to use. In my area the chamber is privately owned and everyone pays an adjusted rate that is affordable, because the owner knows it works and wants to help people. I’m not a doctor, but if something works, it works.....right?
  21. @WaterSkier12 maybe not guaranteed, but I have seen some pretty amazing recovery from a few tib/fib/crushed ankles. Both of whome swear the speed of their recovery was due to time spent in the chamber. Along with PT and everything else the doctor recommended. Please share with me or explain why you disagree. I always prefer a better understanding if I am in correct.
  22. Get in a hyperbaric chamber!! The extra oxygen will greatly improve your recovery. Guaranteed. It works!
  23. I like all boats. On our private lake there are 2 200s. One 5.7 and one 6L. There is a 2015 and 2013 malibu txi. A few 196s. I picked up a 2017 txi and put 120 hrs on it this summer. The break in on the engine took a little longer than expected, but around 90hrs the hole shot power came around. After some prop testing and grinding rudder a bit, it drives really well. I think it drives as well or better than the other boats on the lake. It is definitely easier to drive and requires less effort when pulling for long periods of time. My largest complaint--- the seat doesn't scoot forward enough for short drivers or ones that like being close to steering wheel. I will be modifying it myself next season so that my most consistent driver(wife), is more comfortable when I am floundering behind her.
