  1. I will check when I get home, but I do not see any reason they cannot be drilled.
  2. Hi, Music City Water Ski club (http://mcwsc.com/) has a course on Percy in Nashville. You ideally want to be along the I24 East corridor to get to it easily. It is not on the popular parts of the lake, and there are some obstacles to avoid getting to it. Reach out to someone first. Tims Ford is a great lake, but expensive, and has a nice course. It is also a short distance from Swerve, so when it is crowded you can go there for a set on a private lake. Center Hill has a nice course too. Not sure about Center Hill, but there Tims Ford and Percy courses are out when the water is dropped over the winter.
  3. The local ski club has had a course on Percy Priest, and horribly crowded, lots of boat rentals, and a great fishing lake, since the 1970s. There is another course on Percy maintained by the some camp counselors . It is not as consistent. The club course has magnets for timing an all. It is in a part of the lake you should study a map of before heading towards it. We even added a bunch of rip rap to the course this past year. As long as the wind agrees, it a great course. Tims Ford (public lake) has a course that comes up after the survey of shore. It is there most all season. There is another course that is portable that a guy puts up on the other side of the lake periodically. Center Hill (public lake) has a well used course that has been there for years. Fishermen are not the problem. We have mutual respect and appreciation for our lakes as the fisherman. We are the same ones at the launch ramp early and late. Recreational beginners with tubes, who cannot handle their boats well, and jet skis rentals are the problem. Your unproductive stereotyped comments that bring in Deliverance are not useful and are way off the mark. Maybe true where you are, but not round here. There is also a private ski like along the interstate just outside of Paduka, KY that may be close to you.
  4. Most the existing courses in middle TN have been there for years so hard to know how to give you advice for a new course. What about a portable course and dont get a permit? Deliverance was not filmed in or about TN, and I am yet to travel to a state that does not have its own version of what was depicted in that movie. Skied a course on public TN water yesterday that has been there since the 70s. Go for it David. We need more skiers.
  5. The first 2 above can also use just RPM. You dobt have to add a paddlewheel. There are usually a few on ski-it-again. The single line menu is not intuitive. Newer GPS definately worth it.
  6. Need to see under the doghouse. Based on the outside and the newer throttle control, I would assume upgrades to the engine. On a good day, he might get $8000, but 6-7K is the likely value IMHO. It is a beauty.
  7. I am wondering about putting the other foot up front since your having such an unbalanced ride after dropping the ski.
  8. No laws in my state about what you can surf behind, other than the laws of good sense. Yesterday we ran an adaptive ski clinic and I thought about this topic. It would not have been safe to run an outboard chase boat unless it was set up way differently. Tow boat would have been fine.
  9. panda me up if you want, but this is your own tagline: "The digital center of the water ski world". I love all things skiing other than tubes and surfboards. I never got the chance to show ski, but bet I would love this too. This is the best place on the net for my love of all skiing. I didn't realize this was slalom only focused. I tried to find where to read the rules again but I can't see that. My bad if I have contributed to moving your forum off of its focus.
  10. Jobe even had wedge plates to cant to bindings side to side. That being said, I do not recall a ton of people on them in the tournaments.
  11. For the 80s, I would add the HO Mach 1 in the list for both the ski and bindings. I definitely concur with the Kidder Redline Graphite I think I would drop O'Brien Competitor from the list. It was pretty, but did it really move ski technology forward? I might also replace the Stiletto with the EP GX3 Turboglass. I believe it was their first full concave ski with graphite, versus a tunnel concave.
  12. The other variables to consider are the prop and if the boat has tabs of some sort. $100 on a lower pitch 4 blade prop will make a huge difference if the bow tends to raise and the boat takes a while to plane. Those old glastrons were likeky pitched for all around performance and the 2 strokes made more low end torque. Tell us more about the boat and prop.
  13. I thought about the need for the CP to be open bow too. I have a closed bow but woukdnt get another one. At my age going over the bow on those rare occasions is a risk of an injury that could keep me off my ski for a while.
  14. Pete, would love to see how your boats perform. Not sure you ever travel to Tennessee but it could expose your boat to several people if we arranged for you or someone you know with one down here to come help with our Adaptive Ski Clinic. We probably would not want it as a chase boat, because of the prop off the back, but you could totally be a tow boat.
  15. I just looked at the price of new bass boats. Damn, its not just a new ski boat issue.
  16. DynaPete, not socialists here. I want them to make a ton of money. I want them to engage in R&D, sponsor Ball of Spray, give Horton a new boat to name annuall, sponsor tournaments, skiers, etc. I also want you to make a ton of money -- and to tuck an inboard engine in one of your molds and offer it for less than 40K. Will it take, off, who knows. The next recession is coming. These mammoth boats they have been making all their money from will stop moving, the same way huge SUVs did. There will be a glut of them on the used market, and inboard ski boats will still have their market share for those of us that love skiing, until we dwindle. We need to grow and get more people wanting promos, dynaskis, used SN and Responses, etc, Zero Off conversions, etc.
  17. For most people it depends on the interest rate. I find myself around what I see several others saying $40,000 out the door no frills, base trailer.
  18. I like Blue Lizard a lot. It is hard to apply if you put on too much. A little goes all day.
  19. PCM marinization? correctcraftfan has all the manuals, including one fir the tranny. Mastercraft Team Talk has a great thread on rebuilding the velvet drive.
  20. What power plant under the hood?
  21. I get it for some water sports products but Radar's stuff is outright eye candy on its own merits.
  22. OK, I clicked it and it brought me just to their sequence plate, not even to their home page. I don't see how this is effective.
  23. Kids today grow up seeing Shawn White and Tony Hawk. A board whether surf skate wake or snow fits their identity more. A lot of their fashion revokves around boarding and surfing. They have never seen A Coors Light ski tournament but have seen Red Bull sponsored X-games. And .... surfing is easy.
  24. Our 2nd Odyssey was 5 years old when I added the hitch to it. I hit the threads with a wire brush and a mix of 50/50 ATF / acetone. Way better than wd 40.
