  1. We made a big move over a year ago whereby our house is now on the water, in addition to our cottage. This made the tough (ok not too tough) decision to buy a second ski boat. Clearly can't afford 2 new boats. Last year we bought a 2014 Prostar, which we love, yet could not afford to duplicate that. Delighted that we added a 2004 ski Nautique with only 324 hours on it. However, it did need lots of cleaning as they didn't clean the hull before putting it aware for winter. Spent most of the last week working on it. Thought I would share the new boat. Still more polishing to go to clean up oxidation, yet it's FAR better than it was. Yes, that is the Prostar trailer.....had to use it temporarily.
  2. Agree completely with aupatking. We've definitely had the best experience with Wallyballs. Expensive, yet I think they have been worth it.
  3. So sorry to hear that. Clearly, no one wants to deal with issues like that. Then, especially bad when it happens again. Good luck and hope you're not off the water for too long.

    ZO issue

With everything I have read on the subject. It appears that a new screen/ unit is required. Sadly, it's expensive. Noting how common this issue has been, it would be great if MC would enact a recall. 🤞

    ZO issue

Thanks for the post, will see if that can be a factor for us.

    ZO issue

Sadly, I am also having issues with our 2014 Prostar screen, as it too is ghosting at times....doing things all on its own. While 2014, the boat only has 220 hours on it. I called Mastercraft and they said to try reaching out to a dealer and maybe they can write in a letter for Goodwill. Noting that we bought the boat used privately last year, it may be a stretch but hoping we have luck. $4000. + Is a big nut.
  7. Good morning John1010. I know some others on this forum have made the connection to their outboards. (More of a fabricated process) However, you may want to take a look at JCraft boats as they have now made this a factory option with Yamaha and Perfect Pass. Side note - these boats and the set ups do look amazing. Good luck.
  8. Good afternoon. I've seen these and know the owner of the company you highlighted. These are amazing systems and would LOVE to have one myself.....but sadly, am not in that snack bracket. If you get one, you will not be disappointed. They have amazing attention to detail and proven systems.
  9. In terms of timing. My electric motor is fairly quick..it probably takes less than one minute to pull everything out of the water. Keep us posted on your progress and good luck!
  10. Good afternoon, all great questions to consider before making the decision. As an aside, I am in Ontario, Canada, so we do have to consider how to manage the ice. With that being said, so do people with lift systems. For me, we have a bit of ice movement so I remove one section of track that goes between the water and land portion such that it mitigates any concerns with ice. I also have a friend with a setup such that the in water portion gets cantilevered out of the water during the winter. However, I do not need anything that elaborate. My boat is not covered once it's on the land. Yet that me be a project for this summer, building a boat port on land. The key thing I love about the marine railway is it allows me to pull the boat out of the water ever weekend and then immediately wipe it down to keep the hull clean. Further, it protects the boat from being out of the water when I'm not at the cottage. Mine is a Naylor system (I will send a separate note with the website) and it uses an electric winch to pull the carriage up. The only issue I have experienced is with some rust and I then simply replaced a couple of the sections. Rather than buying the sections from Naylor, I saved a bunch of $ and bought U channel from a local metal supermarket and then made up my own sections. Finally, I would endorse doing this route again. Best regards. Doug
  11. With regards to the Jobs lifejackets. I suspect it's a requirement on the docks as I noticed Drew Ross and Charlie both wearing them as Neilly was preparing for her run. Odd some others in the photo were not wearing any.
  12. Similar to the Response, where the platform can be easily removed. Many Prostar platforms also have a couple of pins that are very simple to remove and the entire swim platform will pivot down and give you the extra room you are looking for.
  13. I do the exact same thing as you, pulling the Prostar up on a marine railway. The water always pools at the back. For a while I would use a manual bilge pump to suck the water out, yet it takes a bit of time after heavy rains and some rain get through the Mastercraft cover. I have now started to simply throw in a pump (fat sac bag pump) and it clears it very quickly. I have debated putting in an actual drain plug, yet hate the idea of drilling into the hull.....please keep me posted if you do that. In the meantime, the pump does work great.
  14. What's the boat update? Which one did you go with? Pics?
  15. That is really impressive! Looks terrific!
  16. Any updates on the new boat purchase? Always such an exciting time! Keep us posted and good luck!
  17. Clearly the wake will not be the same as a direct drive. However, it's great to see you're trying different options to improve things. Rather than simply relying on the trim of the engine, you may want to try adding trim tabs to the boat. It's not too difficult to install and you can also tune each side independently if needed based on weight in the boat. I have installed Bennett's Trim tabs in the past..(not on a ski boat) with great results. Good luck with the project.
  18. Your boat looks amazing! Someone will get a sweet boat!

    .

    Simply amazing Charlie!
  20. Agreed. I just wasn't sure what the biggest size others have been able to wedge in there.
  21. Prostah Skiah or others. I see in the second photo where the small brass screw goes. However, I also have a 2nd brass screw to also find a home....any idea where that one goes? THEN, on a second topic, the battery is completely dead (of course), the one in the boat now was a Mercury battery with 1000 Cranking Amps. Hoping others can share what series and size of batteries they are running? Open to recommendations. Thank you all again!
  22. Thank you for the offer Mastercrafter. The weather is terrible today (snow!), Yet hope to get back to assembly this weekend.
  23. ProStahSkiah, thank you again for taking the time to provide the photos! Truly appreciated. ETskier, do you have some pics of what you did with yours? Always love to see better ways to do maintenance.
  24. Thank you so much! These are really helpful. I was not certain if the hoses should cross, yet this makes it clear.
