  1. Good day. After many years of wishing we finally picked up a new (to us) 2014 Prostar - 5.7L engine. It's in great shape and only has 250 hours. (Being in Canada, we sometimes can luck out getting a boat with low hours) So, what's my problem.....I should re-word that, as it may invoke too many responses. What is my question. The boat had been winterized at a dealer out in Winnipeg (a long way from me), and was just delivered to me recently. As I was looking at the engine, it was apparent that they left all of the hoses, knock sensors, drainage screws all removed. I was able to find all of the parts in a cupholder. However, I now want to ensure I put everything back together properly. With this in mind, can someone share some pictures of how their hoses are attached to the water pump, etc? the manual does not show good pictures of the starboard side on the engine, nor does anything that I could find on-line. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
  2. You may want to try a google search from the old Waterski Magazine Annual Boat reviews from those years. They were always good reviews and some years included video reviews.
  3. Congrats Jason!!! Great to see!
  4. Your boat looks amazing! Most importantly, get well soon Ron.
  5. Live in Mississauga, ski on our course on Raven Lake by Dorset, with Btheis.

Good day Spuddy. I actually own a 2005, in the exact same colours that you show here. It has perfect pass from the factory and we have upgraded since to the Stargazer GPS system. We course ski almost exclusively from 28 mph for some to shoreline at 36 for my son. We have owners the boat forthe past 8 years and love it. There are a bunch of reviews you can find online from when Waterski magazine did their annual reviews. Note, the big 3 will definitely have a better wake. If you can get one of them for the same price, I'd go that way. For me, I wanted to save some money, and have not regretted it. If you are a hard core shortline skier, go the big 3 route. If you course ski and also do other activities, this is a great crossover boat. Good luck in your search.
  8. Thank you for sharing the link above! Great read and funny enough, Paul Roberts is in the J Craft booth. (Former show skier). He used to sell Malibu's and also run Spray Lake (north of Toronto). Now he at J craft.
  9. They also said that they are going to Florida in March to test speed control with Perfect Pass.
  10. The J Crafts looked amazing! If only had enough money for a regular Direct Drive and a J! The guys at the booth were great! We even got a couple of J Craft t-shirts.
  11. Thanks 2Valve. He's a great cottage dog, jumping off the dock to chase ducks etc...a slim 85 pounds. I'm lucky as Trina is pretty cute too! :)
  12. Mosby loves anything to do with the water.and of course the boat. However,we have to use a MRD when skiing. (Mosby Restraint Device). Otherwise, if a skier falls, he will immediately jump in to make a rescue!
  13. MuskokaKy, indeed , I loved the outboard thread that was posted. Those 2 J Crafts looked amazing. I heard they were switching from Yamaha to Mercury or Evinrude so that they could at least provide GPS speed control for 2020....if only I had lots of money. What lake are you on? I'm on Raven Lake, up by Dorset.
  14. Like MuskokaKy, definitely looking forward to the Toronto Boat Show! As well, looking forward to seeing the J Crafts again....such a classic style and boat. If I could have 2 ski boats it would be a traditional DD and a J Craft!
  15. We have a couple of these HO sleeves. They have lots of stretch to accept different ski lengths. They work great.
  16. I too use a Marine Railway and it works great. > leave the boat in the water each weekend and pull it out every Sunday night. I give the boat a quick wipe and ensure no scum lines ever appear. Being in Canada (like you) I pull out one section of the railway (between the water and land section) to ensure that the ice doesn't wreck things. Works great. Though I am sure a lift would also be terrific. I think it's always better to keep the hull out of the water if you can. Good luck with your project.
  17. Some great quotes! I actually laughed with Punch it Chewey! I may use that one. I usually use; Go boat Pitter Patter, let's get at 'er
  18. Update, it was a great weekend mixing the skiing and motocross. The water was 59 degrees and we .we're only able to free ski as we pulled the course a few weeks ago. Still great to swerve anytime. Rode the KTM 525 (a beast) for 4 hours on Saturday and almost 3 hours yesterday. A great weekend!
  19. Hey keith2oskier, I live in Toronto, with the cottage being about 2 1/2 hours north of the city. @jetsetr, now I'm really jealous with you having a track your backyard! Riding a KTM 525 this weekend and of course the HO Syndicate!
  20. Wanted to share my upcoming ALMOST ultimate weekend. I have some buds coming up to the cottage for the following plan; Friday night, get away from work and drive to the cottage...then drink beer Saturday, slalom with 2 other buddies, big breakfast, maybe wakesurf, then head out for about 4 hours of motocross and enduro riding. Come back, slalom again, big steak dinner and beer Sunday, repeat of Saturday with skiing and Motocross yet not as much beer as we have to drive home. Sunday night...hang with girlfriend and try to get the smile off my face from an amazing weekend!
  21. Congrats on your new addition to the family!
  22. So sorry for your loss John. Such an inspirational man.
