  1. Thanks for the info, @Orlando76. Now that I know when it is we may have to ride there that day and watch them go by again!
  2. Do you guys also do a run down the Ocklawaha River? My wife and I were riding our horses along the beautiful grass levee beside the river in the Sunnyhill Restoration Area a couple of years ago and a huge flotilla of Nautiques went cruising past. It was so cool to watch. There were dozens of them.
  3. Careful now. Eat too many of those and you'll come home looking like a sumo wrestler.
  4. @RAWSki I feel the same. Very pleased with them in every respect.
  5. Thanks @brooks! Okay, then. I'd been in the habit of zipping my ski into its bag when done skiing and leaving it there until my next opportunity. From now on I'll take it out of the bag when I get home and let it air dry. I appreciate your advice.
  6. @brooks, @eddie_roberts_jr, I bought these Vector boots 2 1/2 years ago and a month ago the back of the front boot ripped. I just went down to Perfski and bought a new pair. It didn’t occur to me to contact Radar concerning any warranty coverage nor would I ask for any now. My question is: were these made from the TPU that @tjones999 was referring to, the type that must be keep dry between use? Secondly, my new pair is pictured. Do these need to be stored dry to keep the rubber from deteriorating? I really like the new boots so I’m not at all unhappy I had to get a new pair!
  7. Looking great Brad! Glad you’re back in the water!
  8. @SkiSam, If you read my follow up post you’ll see I actually said essentially the same thing.
  9. @LoopSki, remember, those are the MSRP. Nobody pays that, or anything close to it. My quote from Action for a new boat/trailer with options came out to about 24% off the MSRP. That would make the base price for the 2020 with the new 6.0L 373HP engine $64,052 at that discount rate, or about $2,530 more than the 2019 at that same discount. That seems pretty reasonable for the bigger engine.
  10. @jayski, the MSR base price of the 2019 Prostar was $80,950. Action Water Sports priced me out a new 2020 and its base price was $84,280. So, a $3,330 bump. Part inflation I suppose. But the greater part of the price hike is likely the new engine.
  11. @MillerTime38, yeah, skiing 3x weekly, sometimes 4x. Mainly on Lake Weir these days. Funny, I was just about to PM you on BOS to see if you've been skiing yet in Japan. Looking forward to some reports once your ski arrives! I have a piece of property on the market and when it sells, I'll be getting a boat. Could be tomorrow, could be 3 years from now, you never know with real estate. I've been a boat mooch too long. It's time to contribute. Leaning toward a Prostar and will have my first chance to try one out soon. Melanie is all in for one, so that hurdle is cleared!
  12. I'm guessing some of you Florida residents can give me a knowledgeable answer: 1. If a Florida resident buys a used boat that is currently registered in Florida, do they have to pay FL sales tax on the used boat purchase price when registering it in their name? 2. If a Florida resident buys a used boat from out of state currently registered in that state, do they have to pay a FL sales tax on the used boat purchase price after bringing the boat to Florida and registering it in their name? Thanks!
  13. Generally about an hour to my regular lake. 45 minutes to another lake I ski from time to time. It depends on who invites me as I'm a ski boat mooch. ;-)
  14. Sorry, I thought I was sending this as a private message to @bikesrus. Anyhow, what engine did you get in your new Prostar? Thanks!
  15. Also... what engine did you get? Thanks!
  16. congrats on your new boat, @bikesrus! Sounds like a beauty... how about some pictures?
  17. @Horton can you elaborate a bit? Say I go through the Design This Boat process for a Prostar which, when completed, provides a MSRP. Where does it become messy?
  18. Thanks @Andre. The only way to assess the value of a used boat is to know what a comparable new one could be had for. This is helpful.
  19. @swc5150 without asking anyone for the specifics of their deals, would you guess people typically pay MSRP less 10%... 20%... 30%... there must be some ballpark number that is realistic to expect.
  20. @skihacker what you say is great advice. The question is, would I exercise the maturity, good judgement and common sense to follow such good advice. I’m not sure. But there’s always a first time.
  21. Well, my Design This Boat is coming in over $100K with the 320HP engine and without a trailer which I’d also need. Nobody ever accused me of having cheap tastes! Question: when it comes to boats, ski boats in particular, do people ever pay MSRP, or is it like cars where no one ever pays the sticker price? If the latter, what might one expect to get a $100K MSRP boat for, custom ordered? I hate the thought of my wife having to get a second and third job, plus take care of me, in order to afford a new Prostar, particularly since she doesn’t ski. Life isn’t always fair I guess.
  22. @ScottScott many many thanks for your input! And perhaps I'll PM you about a pull one of these days... generous of you to offer! I know the bow cover is an option. I was under the impression the bow seats were standard equipment and removable if you want the extra space. At least that's the impression I got with Design This Boat (which I finally got mostly working using my desktop computer instead of my iPad.) I'm impressed by the passion of Prostar owners. It's what got me taking a serious look at this boat. So thanks all!
  23. @skimtb wow, thanks so much for your detailed info! Very helpful indeed. You’re right though. I didn’t mean to jack the thread. But with all the Prostar enthusiasts chiming in, it seemed like a good place to get the information that for some strange reason MC doesn’t make available to prospective buyers. Yes, the Design This Boat doesn’t work on iPhone/iPad. Once I tried it on my desktop things went better. But it still has its quirks. But lack of basic information is still the biggest failing. The website doesn’t even provide a list of standard features, let alone any explanation of the options. Love the boat though... it’s my #1 focus at the moment.
