  1. Haven’t had a lot of extra time during this shutdown. Been working 55-60 hrs a week (thank goodness)

Have a couple of projects going a the moment.

First one is trying to finish the 1948 Chevy pickup. Total build project. New frame, Mustang 2 front end 1987 Chevy S-10 rear end, box from a 1968 Chevy stepside pickup, 350 V-8 , paint and interior

Second one is updating the 1968 Firebird. Updating to power front disc brakes, new floors, new interior and upholstery, new wheels and tires and paint.

If this shut down last long enough and I finish these 2 projects I have a 1950 Ford coupe that needs a total restoration . Flathead V-8’s are so cool!mdyc9bpaz3dg.jpeg

Here are some pics of my boat garage. I used 2 dowels to hang life vests and wet suits and gloves on with a fan mounted above to help them dry.

I mounted the skis and wakeboards on 3/4 pvc pipe anchored to the wall with 2x6’s with pipe insulation around the pvc pipes for protection

Also have a pulley system mounted to the ceiling to store the tower when not on the boat. Only use the tower 1 week a year when we take our annual trip to Lake Entiat on the Columbia river

  3. @skibrain when the Wednesday night crew skis in the winter fashion goes out the window! Dry suits beanies and neoprene gloves for all and plenty of hot water from the shower. As @Rednucleus says “I can’t stand to be cold when I ski” ?
  4. I deliver groceries to stores, schools, care centers and restaurants so I have been working full time essential job. Wife is a bookkeeper for a big plumbing outfit and is working almost full time. All the public lakes around here are closed☹️ and our private lake doesn’t open til May. Really got the itch to ski since it’s been February when I last got wet. Have plenty of home projects that have kept me busy and just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit and stay there so I can plant my vegetable garden

Here is my 02 Sunsetter LXI. Hasn’t seen water since February ☹️ Presently the Wednesday night crew is in nonski mode☹️☹️ Hope to ski with some family members soon when our weather dries out and warms up a little. Weather forecasters are calling for below average temperatures for April in Wa☹️ Still working full time (thank goodness for that) but need some skiing to stay sane and I miss my 3 ski partners @Rednucleus, Doug and Ken. Stay safe everyone

  6. Have all the kids and grandkids over for a family dinner to celebrate all the birthdays we have missed.

Go back to my 90 year old father-in-law’s shop and get back to work on my 1948 Chevy pick-up project so I can drive it to Bow lake this summer.

Get back to umpiring baseball games again.

Join the other 3 members of the Wednesday night crew for some skiing at Bow lake.

Ski with my wife and kids on Big lake

  7. My first boat was a 1977 16 1/2’ Apollo with a 115 Mercury outboard. Skied great. Back in the day my wife would drive and I would ski and then we would switch. This boat was fine til we started getting serious about skiing and started to have kids.

Bought a 1989 Prostar and enjoyed the heck out of it til more kids came along and we needed more room.

Bought a 2000 Super Air Nautique V-drive. Lots of room and the kids were into wake boarding and surfing (sorry @Horton) at that time. The wake for skiing really sucked!

Finally came to my senses and bought a 2002 Sunsetter LXI 5 years ago and love this boat. The open bow gives the boat plenty of room and the wake is great for skiing. Put the wedge down and the wake is acceptable for wake boarding which the kids will do on occasion when we are on our week long trip to Lake Entiat. Otherwise all the kids have come back around to where they started and are skiing again!

My son bought his first boat last fall a 2005 Centurion T-5 Comp and loves it. With the open bow he has plenty of room for his wife and 2 girls.

Unlike @Justin I will NEVER go back to a V-drive. So much easier to work on and maintain the engine of a DD and the ski wake can’t be beat.

I guess it’s all in what you want/prefer and I like to ski!?

  8. @DangerBoy I had the same problem as you. Great vision up until my my mid 50’s then all of a sudden it started to worsen. Used glasses then switched to contacts for a few years. Had all kinds of problems with the contacts many eye infections. Was getting fed up when my eye Dr told me I had cataracts.

My contacts were bifocal lenses. My Dr recommended the IOL’s. I wore special contacts for 2 weeks to see if the IOL’s would work for me left eye close vision right eye distance vision.

I choose to go with the IOL’s and couldn’t be happier. I had my left eye done for close vision then 2 weeks later my right eye done for distance vision.

Right after each surgery I could see GREAT out of that eye. No delay in the results. The only down side for me was the recovery limitations. I had to stay inside my house and basically either read, watch tv or search on the computer. Couldn’t be around any dusty or dirty environment or get any sweat in my eyes so no working out☹️

2 years post surgery I can’t say enough good things about my choice and the results! I can see so much better and was amazed at finally seeing colors as they were supposed to be.

Also I had the very best surgeon! He was fantastic. I am so thankful I made this choice!

And yes I can actually see the balls not just blurry blobs on the water.

Good luck with you surgery you won’t regret it!

  9. @TEL thanks for the info. Watched the video explaining the balls look really cool. Don’t know if the owner of our lake will spring for them. @LoopSki like your idea it seems to fit more with the theme of the Wednesday night crew. We just may have to redneck something together like that.

@75Tique really cool picture! I will try to reach out to the poster to get some more info.

Looks like another project for @Rednucleus myself and the other 2 members of the Wednesday night crew ?

  10. @75Tique do you have any info on the lighted balls? The Wednesday night crew would like to try some night skiing at Bow lake and have talked about balls that are lighted. Anyone else with info about lighted balls? Thanks
  11. @rodecon I can attest to @Rednucleus ability to repair seals on dry suits. He has done mine and the other 2 guys in the Wednesday night crew. Very handy having a ski partner who can repair dry suits! If you don’t want to tackle the job yourself Wiley’s will do all 5 seals for around $160
  12. Water 46 air 38 skied Big lake today. Only 2 of the Wednesday night crew made it. Missed you Ken and @Rednucleus. Found a guy standing on a dock by the boat launch and convinced him to join us. He hadn’t skied in years. He was staying in a friends house on the lake. We had an extra drysuit and he found a ski that worked for him in the house. Said he never had so much fun. Doing our part to pass the handle! This was our first February ski because of all the rain and cold weather we have been having here in the PNW. Forecast looks good for next week 999fktx42xx9.jpeg
