  1. I miss the weekly missives from Cougfan and Red Nucleous. Where are you? Ross
  2. It also depends on how big the boat is, shape of hull and what ski you are on. We are mostly open water skiers and ski at 15 off where there is a sweet spot. When the course conditions are right we spend time there as well. We adjust trim once the skier is up to have the bow lift more as @Ski_Dad said above. I changed from a 10 or 11 year old System 8 to a Radar Senate Alloy last year and found it to so much better on wake crossings and getting to the buoys much cleaner. Any of the other Senates will probably be better in the course with the typically better water conditions.
  3. There are couple of BOS outboard types who ski on Shuswap Lake in B.C. We both have Glastron with open bows; one a 17' and the other a 18'. This lake can get rough in a hurry and yet I have never had waves over the bow because I can adjust the trim and there is enough free board. These are great for free skiing and you can still run the course at longer lines but lack the DD tracking fins. Excellent to learn on. Two stoke oil injected Outboards if they have been run at higher rpms ie 4,000-5,000 (they are engineered for this) are long lasting and are relatively easy and inexpensive to maintain. The E-tech series from Evinrude are unbelievable engines. Many of the Coast Guard units around the lower mainland and Vancouver Island have switched from Yamaha 4 stroke to these because of better power and much less ongoing maintenance. Every 50 hours for oil services for the Yamahas. Good luck on your search.
  4. The radar video is very accurate on the description of the Senate Alloy for open water. I ski on Shuswap Lake in B.C. This past summer the water was really calm in til mid morning. My new Senate a 2019 67" alloy worked great on the calm water but was exceptional with a bit of light 2" ripple. I could not believe how smooth and stable the ride was across the wake at 32mph. A new level of confidence compared to my previous ski. Technology is our friend! At 160lb this is a revelation>
  5. Does anybody have the stock measurement for the front binding on both a 2019 - 67' Senate Alloy and a 2019 65" Lyric. We have FF for both. Thanks
  6. Is dinner served at the Alger Bar and Grill? lol
  7. I have to agree with escmanaze: I just got a new Radar Senate with lace up Radar Vector bindings.....what a pleasure in both ease of ingress/egress and comfort compared to my HO Animal rubber bindings. No more soap required, far lighter. I cannot imagine going back in time.
  8. aspski Just checked shuswaplakewatch- Sicamous water is 68 F / 20c. We need the projected heat next week to get up into the 70's! I am heading to Chase tomorrow for two weeks. It is slightly cooler there due to Adams River. Have a great holiday summer everybody. Cheers
